2 жыл бұрынThe more than 100-year-old movie theater chain, AMC Entertainment, has been on a wild ride this year after losing $4.6 billion dollars in revenue in 2020. The pandemic pushed the company to the brink of bankruptcy, but in October 2021 its market cap was higher than $18 billion thanks, in part, to a group of 4.1 million retail investors who now own 80% of the company.
Some of these retail investors call themselves "apes," a play on Wall Street referring to them as "dumb money." In a digital uprising on Reddit, Twitter and KZfaq, they have jumped into the stock giving AMC a billion dollar lifeline.
The company's CEO, Adam Aron, is one of the most interesting characters in this whole drama because he has leaned into AMC's "meme stock status."
Aron communicates with retail investors directly on social media and he's incorporating their ideas for the company, like accepting crypto at AMC theaters, into his strategy.
CNBC's Melissa Lee interviewed Aron about his plans to revive the company, as well as some of the ape's biggest influencers - Trey Collins, known as Trey's Trades, and Matt Kohrs, to hear why the apes think Wall Street is rigged, and what they are trying to do about it. Inflation is created by the government/fed, by both shutting down the economy thus reducing output & massively increasing the money supply. Flooding the money supply without increased production reduces demand for dollars causing real inflation.

There is a perfect storm forming in America. Inflation, sever drought in the farm belt, the pandemic, food shortages, diesel fuel and heating fuel shortages, baby formula shortage, shortage of and price of available cars, the price of housing. It's all coming together and could lead to real disaster toward the end of this year.(or sooner)

For decades, government policy has been throwing the future under the bus. The day of reckoning is coming. I expect the stock market to crash as much as 80%. Investors will rush out of stocks and into real assets, There's going to be no cash in the banks.... You need a survival plan.

I do not know much about the market but based on little knowledge i have on economic supply and demand, this is the best time to venture into the market but the only thing holding me back is the steady fluctuations in prices which is not suppose to be a problem, but i really need guidance because i want to use this avenue that everything is on discount to build a dividend yielding portfolio.

I feel those who would allow the market dynamism to determine when to trade or not are either new in space generally or probably just naïve, the sphere have seen far worse times than this, enlightened traders continue to make good use of the dip and pump even acquiring more equities towards trading sessions, I'd say that more emphasis should be put into trading since it is way profitable than hodling. Trading went smooth for me as I was able to raise over 11.4 BTC when I started at 1.5 BTC in just a few weeks implementing trades with signals and insights from Jeff Erno, I would advise y'all to trade your asset rather than hodl for a future you aren't sure about or hold it and risk losing all....I left his contacts in the comment below take care!...

So many people talk about AMC as if it hasn't had an incredible year. They are the ones that obviously haven't been in the market very long. Losing weight takes months and years. Getting in shape and gaining muscle takes months and years. I want instant gratification too, but I know that being realistic is that this could take months. Please share with others that most good things in life take time. Do you know anyone who graduated from college after only a few weeks?

Right now my portfolio is imbalance because of wrong stock pick and its all red due to the dip. please i need advise on good stocks to buy in order to attained a balanced portfolio.

I suggest you make proper research , don't pick stocks that cant be explained to you in simple terms that's. over the past an average balanced portfolio has been 6 1/2 percent return. After making proper research and still end up in cross road seek for a duly licensed and experienced portfolio manager & Broker to avoid future major disappointment or making another rookie mistake.

@@tsquickgt1 yeah, you. The SEC even found the main spike wasn't even a short squeeze as most of the original short sellers were out before the main spike. What happened was a liquidity crisis where the dealers ran out of shares to trade and the brokers had to post additional margin at the clearing house. In Robinhood's case they didn't have the 2 billion dollars required and had to suspend trading until they could borrow it. All the literal conspiracy theories were also debunked in the SEC investigation. You don't need the market to be rigged to explain why you've been losing money.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but there was very little talk about actual 'naked shorting", the mechanics involved and how it is being used by hedge fund short sellers. I don't know if this was intentional but it would make sense to expose the smaller issues so that it seems like the issue is being discussed but really never is. This gives the illusion that the topics were fully explored. The could easily be considered a win for hedge fund short sellers.

This actually wasn't that bad a documentary even for MSM though it still glossed over some of the bigger things which got apes mad. Robinhood & the others who turned off the buy button back in Jan gets off too easy if you ask me, and while i might own more AMC than GME, GME Deserves more mention than it gotten here. Respect to OG's where it's due. If GME never happened none of us would still be here right now and fighting this fight. Fact that more light is being shined on these issues is still a win however. This story isn't over yet.

Well aware. Covering will entail not only the borrowed shorts, but billions of FTDs, the naked shorting has been on longer than January 2021, 4 or 5 years with no covering. The math is astronomical, forty percent can flake early and an 85,000 per share floor is still mathematically feasible.

If robinhood was telling the truth with "margin requirement", couldn't they just have restricted those buying on "margin" If I am buying with straight up cash what right do they have to restrict that buy order??

Their insta deposit makes it so everything you buy is on margin. Even though you put cash into your account the fact that you don’t have to wait for it to clear means Robinhood is loaning you the money until your cash clears. Basically your buying stock on borrowed money or margin.

@@bubbanikr1 I completely agree. When I pay my credit card bill the money from my bank instantly leaves and the amount I owe instantly goes down. It is really only brokers that it takes time for the money to be transferred. Maybe all this is done on purpose not to give people the opportunity to buy right away if you do not already have funds in your account.

The back end of the stock market is complicated but I will try. The brokerage you are using buys the shares for you. It takes 2 or 3 days for that transaction to clear. The brokerage has to put up their own money in the form of margin to secure that transaction. When the transaction clears the brokerage then takes the money from your account and gives it to the other side of your trade. It used to be that the brokerage could use your money to post margin for the transaction, but then a brokerage was caught stealing in the 90s, from customer accounts through margin requirements posted to the clearing house.

AMC has a book value -$8.44 per share at the end of Q2. Assuming they lose $0.50 per share in Q3, it will have a book value of -$8.95 per share. AMC reports earnings November 8 after the market closes. Good luck, "value investors".

Need to show the 60-70% of the volume of shares traded daily on the dark pool (ATPs). Need to show the daily 4am "sell off" that represses the price action. Need to show the math on 4.1M retail share holders owning 80% of the company, yet we still have millions of shared being loaned out on a daily basis which are used for algorithmic/high-frequency trading done through the dark pools, while sale orders go through the lit exchanges, which hides buying pressure. There are numerous price manipulations tactics at play.

Tell me if I’m wrong, but I don’t see this 60% volume of buys appear on the AMC/GME charts? That’s 60-70% every day, every week & for months of our money routed through the DP’s & yet the price goes down? Another issue with MM’s is they can legally create naked shares as part of ensuring liquidity in the market, only Citadel is no doubt using this privilege to benefit its hedge fund entity shorting our stocks. This is clearly a conflict of interest.
