Makes me laugh when people say they weren’t great musicians? John was an excellent rhythm guitarist Paul one of the best bass players in Rock history, George has created more famous guitars riffs than any other musician and ringo is often cited as an influence by many famous drummers with his unorthodox but very memorable drumming, and just listen to the creativity of songs like strawberry fields and I am the walrus, complex musical masterpieces.

What a great quote: "The Beatles were the most commercial band on Earth. But they were also the most avant-garde and experimental."

I had just graduated college when the Beatles hit America (on the Ed Sullivan Show). Yes I am quite old now; I am not the guy I used to be. But my love for the Beatles has never diminished. Their music will live forever.

The soundtrack of my youth. In 1967, when I was eight, my father walked into a record store for a birthday present for my mother and asked what was new and exciting. The clerk said Sgt. Pepper's, so he bought it. My mother, who was more of a classical music fan, played it once and laid it aside. I got hold of it and took it downstairs and played it over... and over... and over again. It blew my mind. Expanded my mind. Took me out of myself. On heavenly journeys. It opened new worlds of scenes and sounds and colours. A liberation. A joy. An inspiration. What life could be. Forever grateful.

When I consider the amount of joy, The Beatles brought to my life, and the life of millions, it is truly an event that will never repeat.

What I liked about the Beatles was they never took themselves too seriously

John was like coming upon an opening to another universe----Paul was like finding a rare red wine and a nice bouquet of roses----George was like coming upon an undiscovered Mystic, full of love and wisdom----Ringo was like picking up the wrong laundry but the clothes are way better than yours

The Beatles were a household name in our family home in the 60's and 70's mum and dad loved them and all of us kids got to hear the White Album on a daily bases. When my eldest sister was 14/15 she was in love with Paul and dad took the whole family in the car from Holland to London (7 kids mum and dad) back then you could drive with no seatbelts on. We stayed in a hotel in London, walked the street and drove to Abbey Road and to the Studio as well as to Paul's house so that Kitty could see his place, took a photo of the brick wall. We all had photo's of us walking Abbey Road too. This would have been 1970 as my youngest brother was only a young child in a pram born in 1969. My sister Michele is named after the song Michele my bell. I use to sing it to her at her cot when I was 4. It was so good to take my youngers sister to see Paul McCartney on the Got Back tour in Sydney on 28th October 2023. Wont be able to top that gig.

I was born two years before Lennon died, and I’ll be the first to admit that The Beatles are the most significant cultural force in the last 75 years.

In the year 2023 we still focus on the mighty Beatles. Without them there is nothing.

Someone who has grown up with the internet cannot possibly understand what was going on back then, nor the importance of music to uniting the culture.

I had just come to the US alone at the age of 7- escaping communism. Very dark days for me, then, our beloved President was assassinated- I couldn’t believe this would happen in all places like the US of A. The freest nation in the world. I felt the entire country was in a sad coma- then just in a few short months, The Beatles saved us all. They brought sunshine once again. We all felt really for the first time that everything wonderful was possible. Perhaps, the Beatles are saving us all again. After the Beatles, the world, gladly, as we all knew it, would never be the same. Loved this documentary! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

To actually have been alive to watch their story unfold in real time was to witness a total change in culture. It really is hard to overestimate their impact on everything. They completely altered the course of history and turned the world in a new direction. I've and I've never seen anything like it. It was really something.

The Beatles were the most culturally impactful group of the 20th century, period. People today who don’t investigate or understand them are truly missing out on an opportunity to learn about our journey to today. Then, there is the music itself….

They are probably the only band in the world that almost everybody knows the names of each member even 53 years after they broke up and the deaths of 2 of them.

Just the other day…on Jan. 24, ‘23 I was in my kitchen doing some things…where there’s a Bose Wave radio atop my fridge. I often put it on where my oldies station awaits. All of a sudden this boisterous and nervous drum roll erupted from the radio…followed by an imperative shouting chorus of how “She loves you yeah, yeah, yeah!” was thrown at me. At that very second I tried to imagine what this was like in ‘63 or 4 when it first arrived over the airwaves. The song still excites me! I loved every second of it - all 2 1/2 minutes of it. I mean these guys wrote their OWN songs and this tune opens with the chorus! This was huge. They weren’t a covers band and it was a big deal. It changed most everything. What I find fascinating is that within the less-than-three minute songs they wrote, there so much vital information within those couple minutes. Song crafters at their best!

I grew up with their beautiful music, wisdom and humour. Truly they can never be replaced. They were a rare breed of talent.

So hard to believe that I actually REMEMBER their first trip to the United States, on the Ed Sullivan show, of the Beatles on television 😮😊. They'll always have a beloved spot in my heart! They were "grownups", we were children, but oh, how special they were--growing up together!!

Putting the great music aside for a moment, the Beatles story of how they rose up from almost nothing to the GOAT rock band is simply an amazing story. Not to mention the individual stories of the four of them, the people they met along the way that helped them. Had they not found a drummer named Pete Best, perhaps they don’t go to Hamburg and learn their craft. The whole story is almost unbelievable, like it was made up. They improved so much from 1962-1963 and learned to write great songs at exactly the right time. They never repeated themselves once the hits started coming either. My most favorite subject for over 50 years now.

the impact of The Beatles can't be over estimated. they moved the world. I was 12 when they came to this country and they led the way for us.

Their foundation in '63 and '64 set it all in motion, but it was their 1965 album 'Rubber Soul,' and their 1966 album 'Revolver,' where their music really took a left turn and became ARTISTICALLY EXPLOSIVE!. If you compare what they were doing in 1963 to what they ended up doing a mere seven years later, it's like listening to two completely different groups. What's hard to believe is how little time they were actually together, yet how long their influence has lasted!

It's about time I hear a little more BEATLES. I forgot how much they shaped my childhood.

OK, we've all seen like a zillion Beatles documentary films, but this one is quite different and eye-opening. It speaks of class culture, the state of Liverpool and Britain 2 decades after the war, the cries of the young trying to find themselves and break out of their established roles in life. This film is about culture and politics, moral standards....and about how The Beatles changed all that like we never understood before. It zooms way, way out and shows us much more than the music.

I humbly say I'm one of the biggest Beatles fans in the world. My parents graciously bought me my own record player when I was 6 years old, and I listened to their Beatles albums over and over. Revolver is my favorite, but their three run peak of musical perfection in Rubber Soul - Revolver - Sgt. Pepper will never be equaled. My grandfather was friends with John Lennon for a couple of years, and I have some neat stories. Love is all you need. God bless!

It was our time to feel good. The Beatles were sheer joy, the sound of them and the sight of them! Sheer joy.

The Beatles were so into with the feelings and attitudes of young people and their needs and wants to let them think for themselves and express themselves. The establishment didn't want or accept change and tried to put the youths down. The Beatles were such a blessing because they didn't particularly adore their government, the U.S. government or any other government, they represented the youth in their music and change was happening for the good thank God. The Beatles were 4 boys who changed history in the 60's, unbelievable.

I used to skip whole day of high school (early 70's) & play the albums in order. It was a very educational field Trip .

In ‘64, when they were on Ed Sullivan, I was going on 15. My parents let me have “long” hair, in a Beatle style and even bought me some Beatle boots. I bought their “Meet The Beatles” album with my allowance, even though I had to put it on layaway. My $1.00 a week was all I got but in a few weeks, it was mine.

I saw the Beatles concert/event in 1964 at Indianapolis is on U tube. Wow It was amazing. There could not be a more excited crowd. The girls went crazy and were carried out on stretchers passed out. It changed my music over night. I started playing Premier R/R Drums. I was playing Pop and Jazz Trumpet. It was all great. Our talented band was playing album rock before we knew what album rock was. We and no others tried to play the Beatles. Nobody was good enough with trick equipment to play their world changing music and how they presented themselves. Why insult their new type of music. When John put the bottle of Coke up to his nose in Hard Day's Night it went right over my head, and i'm surprised they snuck it into the movie

The Beatles certainly changed my life. I was born in 1954 so I was at just the right age to fall in love with them when they arrived on the scene. I saw them on The Ed Sullivan Show and from that point on they have been my favorite music artists of all time. They’ve been the soundtrack of my youth and the music I’ve turned to that always has the power to make me happy no matter what tragedies I’ve experienced in my life, and there have been many. I was too young to have an opportunity to see them in person, but I WAS able to attend several Paul McCartney concerts and he’s always been fabulous! One time I was on vacation with my kids visiting my cousins in Lake Tahoe and Paul was playing at AT&T Park in San Francisco during that week. So of course I drove down to SF (about a 3 or 4 hour drive) met up with a group of my friends, went to the concert (which was FABULOUS!) then drove back up to Tahoe to rejoin my family on vacation. Paul played an extra TWO hours that night, so it was 4am when I got back to my family! I loved every second! 🎶🎸🎹🎵❤

And now we just got their last song Now and then in 2023! All these years later they are memorable! I just saw Paul McCartney’s concert (Got back tour) yesterday and he was so good!!

I grew up listening to the Beatles, buying every new record that was released, daydreaming about Paul. 🙂. My parents and siblings loved the Beatles, my 3 kids, my 6 grandchildren love the Beatles. My 6 yr old great-granddaughter can distinguish who's singing most songs and she can sing along too!

Our parents in our home town of Portland Oregon turned on The Ed Sullivan Show that night in early February 1964. We had no idea what we're about to see. From hearing those first words sung, and their spectacular instrumental accompaniment from each of them, I could tell that this was something really special. [Even if my young age, the middle instrumental verse in the cover number they did Till There Was You with Paul McCartney inging. That middle verse was a short fill-in of guitar by George Harrison. Looking back in retrospect I now realize that their musical abilities were quite mature for their age. Harrison is seen playing diminished an augmented chords like almost jazz or Bossa Nova. Just a young man in America back then or even today at age 20, that can play sophisticated jazz guitar.] The Beatles names were flashed on the screen, our mother began to scream for John Lennon. I was nine and a half years of age then. The next day my brother and I went to the local record store and bought the first album, Meet The Beatles. After playing it on our small phonograph a few times in our bedroom, I decided to make cardboard mock guitars with kite string, so my brother and I could pretend like we were lip-syncing to the music. We invited a couple of other friends to do this with us. One of those friends later told his mother that I showed him how to play Beatles music on a cardboard guitar. She said she would get him a real guitar and send him to music school. He eventually quit high school early, and went to attend the New England Conservatory for Music in Boston. He became a great Blues and jazz guitar player here in Portland Oregon, and credits me today for getting him interested in playing guitar when we were about 10 years of age. [Now thinking of this today, I wonder if I invented lip-syncing...?] I told this story to the famous Aimee Mann on NPR's Talk of the Nation, when they commemorated the 40th anniversary of The Beatles Sergeant Pepper's album release. For a such a short video, this doc covered a lot of territory and presented the turning points accurately and interestingly. I liked the way they merged the music with the social change it was causing. Really well done.

I remember that bleak cold winter in 1963 well. It is exactly sixty years ago, as I write this post on an equally cold snowy winter in January 2023 in Ontario Canada. I was an 11 year old Scottish lad keeping warm by jumping on my sledge and careering dow the ice covered pavements in my home town Wishaw Lanarkshire. The song "please please me" was the number being played constantly on the radio and was still sounding in my ears as I made my way up and down those sloped pavements outside my house. Amazing how the emergence of the Beatles coincided with the thawing of that brutal winter. As their hits continued to be released better times ensued for everyone in the UK especially if you were working class. Harold saw to that.

I don't care how monetarily successful the Beatles were. They performed really sweet, romantic songs like 'I want to Hold your Hand ' . It touched my heart when I was 5 & 1/2 . I'm pushing 65 now, and it Still touches me .

The Beatles were more than just a part of the music business they were articulate people who evolved with the times and actually impacted the mindset of millions of people with their meaningful lyrics. Nothing could be more timeless than John Lennon's "All we are saying is give peace a chance. Their music is still relevant today. I still listen to it, and it still elevates my spirit.

The USA was still going through the shock and sorrow of losing JFK. The Beatles' sound was a healing experience which was sorely needed in America. My grandmother in Manchester said the world would never be the same because of the Beatles' music. Well-said, Gran! Countless thanks, Paul, John, George, and Ringo! To my mind (and ears) "Please Please Me" was an amazing amalgam of The Everly Brothers (vocally) Buddy Holly (guitar) and Eddie Cochran (lyrically and musically). It remains my favorite tune by The Beatles.

My first Rock Concert was the Beatles at Maple Leaf Gardens. I fell in love with them then and the love affair still continues ❤❤❤.

I remember exactly where I was when my brother’s friend brought a new 45 round to play at our house - it was “Love me do”. We had never heard anything so life changing. Soon saw them live in Bournemouth!

Many moms and dads or the 1960"s teenages loved The Beatles too. Their songwriting and prolific recording sessions were lapped up because they were so talented. I was 10 years old in 1965, and we were all mad Beatles fans.

I didn’t start getting into the Beatles til my early 20’s, I’m 41 now, but now that I’m older, know mostly every song they’ve ever wrote and heard ‘em all a hundred times, but I like watching the documentaries just as much cuz it’s really a story about history, some of the few storylines we all know happened 100%, unlike most the history we’re all taught in the indoctrination camps we put our kids in, myself included, but at least mine are in Private School. Which is why I can connect a little bit with Baby Boomers and Gen X. A lot of people back in the day at least started at Private or Catholic schools, wearing 2-3 piece suits and a tie. But the Beatles really were the catalyst, if not Elvis, to open the minds of many people… some would say it wasn’t for the better, but you can’t ever take away that they’ll most likely always be the greatest band in the history of music. Imagine if we got 20-30 of the Beatles… 🤔 just, “IMAGINE.” 😎✌🏼🤘🏼

No one to this day compares to the Beatles. Everyone has their own opinion, but to me, The music they made is eternal and incomparable and no one has yet to equal it. Abba might have come close, Bob Marley too, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, even Eddie Van Halen was the single greatest musician of all time (in my opinion), and we have contemporary geniuses creating all kinds of music these days, but still, nothing will ever compare to The Beatles!

Documentaries continue to be made about the greatest group in history -- musically, culturally and sociologically.

I've watched countless documentaries on the Fabs over the years. But they were mostly focused on the music. I've always wanted to see something about how the world, and us as fans evolved along with them, and the effect they had culturally. This is essential. Thank you. 😻✌

In 1964 I went to a birthday party of a friend of mine and there I listened my first Beatles song. Her father was a fan of them, so I was 8 years old and HELP change my world.

The Beatles set the bar for creative growth for a musical act...each album was a leap forward into uncharted original territory... to go from Love Me Do to I am the Walrus in 4 years is mind boggling ...and no band has had near the far reaching cultural and political impact the Fabs had...but their undeniable genius talent as song writers and composers aside the Beatles also had that chemistry magic that is very near impossible to get with 4 different people and that the beatles themselves never had with anyone else they played with in their solo careers - and while solo they still made some excellent music together there was just that magic that would happen when the 4 of them played together that elevated them above the competition....and when you realize that they did all that while in their 20s is absolutely astounding.

The way they harmonized even their breaths on “Girl” is masterful. ❤

I was in grade school when Beatlemania happened. I’m in my late 60s now and I haven’t seen anything that has ever come close to what happened back then. Don’t think we ever will.

So happy this documentary is back on KZfaq!! It was the documentary that first got me into the Beatles back in 2020!! Ever since I watched this, I’ve been the biggest beatle fan on the planet: trips to Liverpool, the Dakota, abbey road I’ve pretty much done it all!!

It's mind blowing how great their music is but how did they manage to survive. They were young men.

I was only 9 when the Beatles first came to the US and we already knew from the radio that there simply was no other band with a comparable sound---from the guitars to the back-beat and of course vocal harmonies and Paul's deep bass in perfect synch with Ringo. My Dad said "they won't last 6 months" but we had the last laugh and he even began to like their later tunes.

The Beatles got me through my teens they gave me something to believe in when I had very little to keep me sane. However they scared the crap out of my parents especially when LSD was the flavour of the month. Ha ha they knew nothing about the medicine I'm 70 now and thank God for his wonder drug LSD.

A comprehensive documentary. In retrospect, the way the four young men met and grew progressively more influential is almost mystical. Brian Epstein becoming their manager, George Martin their producer, every aspect of the Beatles' story is touched by magical meetings. The decision to stop performing live and use the studio as a creative force was perfect.

This to me is the best Beatles documentary as it's also a great social comment and very intelligently and thoughtfully put together.

Without George Martin the Beatles would have been just another band,he was the 5th Beatle
