Or - I would add - viewing the *general population* as oppressed versus oppressor is leading to the wrong conclusions. I think those in power (with a few 'honourable exceptions', yada yada) are fully on board with such ideas, and are indeed bankrolling them to the tune of billions...

That "Toxicity" is what make a Man a Man. The ability to stand and defend yourself and those you love and the willingness to sacrifice yourself to that cause. I don't see Feminised Men doing that, hell, I don't see any woman who would do that! Even the most Militant Feminist I can't see would do that.

@@miguelvigoa7271 Meanwhile, in reality, I'm a man - and a feminist too (like Warren here). That is, an advocate of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. I love smart, strong, wise and compassionate women. I'm immersed in what you don't see. You gotta get out more. No interest in toxicity (the quality, state, or relative degree of being poisonous), thank you. You gotta look in more too.

Excellent dialog. The analogy of women being in a never-ending competition where every day is a beauty pageant is thought provoking. However, as a man who's dated quite a few women in the past - I've made it a point to value other characteristics on the same level as, or more important than physical beauty. Femininity, character, compatible personalities, and mutual values/goals/interests are the top of that list. Looks fade. Social media is largely responsible for creating such unrealistic expectations for women regarding men (and vice versa), due to the comparison syndrome. If they'd learn to shut it off, they'd be happier as a result.

Amen to all you posted. I was raised, as a girl, to always be able to support myself because life is uncertain. In other words, of course, get married and have a family, but know that illness and wars happen and you may find yourself alone to raise children. That advice held up well. I often wondered during my 52 years of working how men took some of the crap women dish out to them. I do not understand that. I was taught to live a life of integrity, duty, honor and love of God and country. I do not understand this world, but realize we are in end times now.

some people like most people can't win in life because of these points of view like you have to help yourself when in most parts of life there is nothing you can do. when your born into poverty, life is designed to keep you down thanks to the life you people have created. think about it when people view life in different ways people have different perceptions of what they want in life. help yourself for what? when the structures in life are designed to keep certain people down help yourself, shutup.

I can't do anything about it." Yep. Or spend your life fighting or walking elsewhere or die trying. Yes, it's hard. Yes, you're outnumbered. Yes, the structures are all against you. The Feminized Male by Patricia Cayo Sexton July 1969, just 9 years after the FDA approved the Pill, the "Feminizing" of boys was noticed, enough so that a woman wrote this book about the destruction of future Men in this country. I read it while I was still in High School, and saw everything she pointed out in real time. I then became a "Problem Student" because I knew what they were trying to turn me into. Megyn please consider the following. Your example of ''toxic masculinity'' was toxic in your choice of words. The guy you went to college with and ran into, his comment was him being a jerk, doesn't mean he is a jerk. That generality is toxic and a generalization that has now tainted/smeared that person. If you took his ''go make me a sandwich'' comment seriously and not a throwaway line, then that's on you. Seeing you again and in particular how well you were doing is that male competitiveness and the inevitable banter to bring your mates down a notch or two. You are an amazing and highly competent person. If you heard that same comment now you wouldn't blink and waste any energy other than the appropriate response of ''good one dickhead.'' Which 99.9% of males would love and chuckle with you. Back in the late 70's whilst at Uni, a mate ran a service (tongue-in-cheek) we called ''dial-a-do'' ie he had his ear to the ground for any and all possible events or parties that were happening around town day and night. This particular do was a feminist rally at the University of Queensland. The meeting was held at the movie theatre on campus. A crew of us snuck into the back and the rhetoric was all anti-male and hating men etc.... . The lead proponents were stereotypical feminists wearing red t-shirts and overalls and trying to look like men. The butch looking types. All pretty new and strange to us. The cat calls started from the shadows and the one that sent them into rage was ''go bake a cake.'' Mere words strung together are powerful. To us we were looking for a fun time. That comment to us was hilarious in that moment. To them it was an insult worth pursuing us and the possibility of violence was real. In reflection would I change that moment. No. Those lived experiences taught me about the ever-changing highs and lows. That the greatest unknown on this planet every day is people. The wisdom of ''if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'' comes in real and strong. However, that comes from learning along your journey and human fallibility means the journey to wisdom can be fraught with the ebbs and flows of daily life. In the end it's ''do unto others....'' as a loving benchmark. Keep fighting the good fight Megyn, we truly appreciate it.

Megan please check recent college admissions ratio including all pro schools. I was surprised to learn from reddit that Duke and Emory medical schools only admitted around 27% male students though 45% male applicants. Hope these two are just isolated cases. Top IB college intern recruitment for freshmen and sophomore also only take girls (unspoken rules) and minority boys.

@light9999

You're not the only that noticed that. Also learned that apparently genetics has no role in behavioral differences. It might be interesting to force an unnatural situation like his exercises did which gives one sex an insight to the other sex in some small way, but that won't change behavior on a large scale. Modern social constructs that are too removed from our natural genetic history is the permanent and unsolvable problem.
@Jubal.Harshaw
@Jubal.Harshaw 2 жыл бұрын
@@light9999 Agreed. Still, we need more recognition of the problem in order to define the difficulty and initiate change in society. That is going to be difficult to do in a society which places all of its emphasis on the victimized female and none on the conditions of the male. Society tends to ONLY deal with what it is FORCED to through compensation attributes. The more difficult the situation - the quicker society deals with the problem. I recommend that men simply remove themselves from society -or- initiate a type of 'male taxation' for any contribution to society that we make. It can be like a male 'carbon tax' to force society into recognizing the true consequences of pushing men and boys to the back of the line and outside the scope of society.

what Megyn describes in her story of toxic masculinity is tame compared to what men will do to each other in a similar scenario. "make me a sandwich" is insulting but nothing compared to what a man might do to another man who he is competing with. Get over it ladies, you want to compete with men you have to take it like a man.

Megyn that was not so much toxic masculinity you ran into as it was running into a jerk with some insecurities. If you were old friends and he stuck around as you both laughed it could have been construed a little differently. I’ve achieved some things in my life where others say “wow” and my wife responds to them by saying “he still has to dump garbage”.

I'm not Carl Jung...but it was obvious...they needed to be women...They wanted to come aboard.....surprisingly "to look in a mirror.." wanted to take a shower."..In short reality They wanted to be women not soldiers..."One of many situations" in my personal EXPERIENCE" CONCLUSION Women do not belong in "mens roles"... upon experience and observation...On my 42 ft Sailboat... living nd sailing 14 years...women crew members?...a step above my two auto pilots... capable of cooking...No mechanical appitude..."this is not a put down...simply not capable of effective or intuitive mechanical ability or strength as you would find with a guy.....Having been a seaman and sailor many years....the sexual angle of a seaman...You never pay for sex you pay for them to leave"...THIS IS REALITY...Women are seeking out the wrong roles..much unhappiness...The young women today are learning the wrong stuff..As a graduate student in Paris. presumerably studying Law and Economics in the mid 60's "before hippies and drugs" I would play my guitar and sing.. Place De la Concorde... Tourism still a novelty I had a lucrative business as a" Gigolo"..showing fresh American divorcees the sights and eateries of Paris... My conclusion even at a young age 22-23 women need direction and protection..I was in charge a day or several days..to see they had a good time.. Title nine 1972 began the decline... So TODAY we have Lea Thomas...an also ran male swimmer...a champion women swimmer?.. this is society today...A young boy needs a mother to learn the softer virtues..then older a father to learn the virtues of a man...Many take religion as merely mythology and that's fine..undefinable truth there..It has been a pretty good yardstick in defining roles of society...which are being abandoned today.. But if God is within us..as reason enough why I'm a Western Buddhist...what God is ..can be found in the "Harmony" of all nature..HUMAN disharmony cause drug abuse and all soughts of "spiritual problems" not surprising to me sober 48 years.....sadily...society at this very moment getting worse...Women are going about trying to feminize men to try to justify their own inadaquities...the violence and divorce rate out of control and the children suffer...Of all the things I admire in Julia Roberts... she left Hollywood while on top to be a "mother"..years ago.. seeing pictures of her at Cannes film fest.. I contacted her agent...Great part for Julia Roberts as Johnny's Mother...in JOHNNY B GOODE with George Clooney as Uncle Jack.....The law profession is prominent in N.Y....storyline George's wife teach law at Columbia while shooting.. I just want to say that I believe this all started when women got tired playing the supporting role while having to hide their strength...and then having to expend so much energy to uphold a facade of the man being stronger, smarter etc. We need to let go of the facade and allow the 20 something generation redefine what it means to be a man. Men have gotten so used to being allowed to bully women and women are finally saying NO. And men don't like it...not getting their way. Women have not been put on this earth to serve men; nor are men here to serve women. But it would really be wonderful to find men who are caring and kind and vulnerable, because they are confident in being a man/human

God created us male and female with respective inherent traits and roles in marriage and the home which complement one another to the benefit of all, especially vulnerable children. Husbands and fathers are equipped and tasked to provide, protect, and lead in the home; women are uniquely gifted to be wives and mothers that are ideal helpers for their husbands, nurturers of the children, and creators of homes as havens for their families. The invaluable contributions that men and women make in this model combine to ensure the welfare of the entire family. By extension, society as a whole benefits from the stable, loving homes produced by such a union. The feminist model rejects God's blueprint for marriage and family. Careers, financial independence, and personal ambitions are held forth as goals for women. Many young women follow this path as evidenced by the median age of marriage for women now stands at 29+ years as opposed to 19+ in 1955. It follows that 50% of women are childless by age 30. For an increasing number of women, they find that they spent their prime years pursuing educations and establishing careers only to find the precious window for marriage and/or motherhood now closed. Children born to mothers with careers are raised by strangers in centers and institutions which are poor substitutes for the love and care of dedicated mothers in the intimate setting of the home. Husbands of wives with careers must be satisfied with the crumbs of their wives' time and attention. Divorce rates, suicide rates, addiction rates, and crime rates have skyrocketed with the rejection of God's pattern for men and women in marriage. Clearly, marriages, children, and homes suffer in the feminist model. We must recover our senses and recognize that the marriage relationship is an interdependent one by design; mutual trust between husbands and wives and the faithful execution of the respective roles of each undergird it. Marriage and motherhood are worthy of the best of a woman's time, attention, and energy, especially when dependent children are in the home. The rejection of these roles or the reversal of them bring chaos. There is no improving upon God's ideal model for marriage, home, and family. A woman can change her family's world over night by doing whatever is necessary to prioritize her marriage, children, and home.
