NOTE CHOKED AND CHOKELESS CARBS the primer bulb ONLY primes the carburettor, it doesn't add any fuel to the motor. Two or three slow revolutions of the motor via the pull start will draw the air and fuel mixture into the motor and will prime the engine ready to fire. Then retract the pull start fully and then pull up till you feel the resistance and compression, just after TDC allow the pull start to recoil, then one swift pull will start your engine. The method mentioned above is the best way to start these engines, as you prime and oil the engine case with slow pulls. Hardcore yanking on the pull start can cause scoring from dry piston rings, and more likely to damage the pull start itself either snapping the cord or breaking the plastic part that engages with the flywheel. Good afternoon my friend, my name is Ralph and I spoke to you recently about my cen Ctr 5.0 I picked up from a friend a few weeks ago. I need a part for the carb. The carb has a round shaft that slides in and out and on the end of the shaft there is a fitting I believe it's called the carb throttle arm that I need. It has a grub screw on one side of it and a ball end on the other that snaps onto the linkage going to the throttle servo. I tried a 3.3 Traxxas carb throttle arm but it's to small. If you have one or know anyone who has one I really need this part and will gladly buy it from you. If not can I use a different carb or can I use a different motor? I don't have a clue because I'm new to nitro and don't want to buy a motor that won't fit. I now have about $750.00 invested and can't drive it. Please help me if you can. I don't even know what glow plug to use because all the books that came with the car tell me nothing. Sorry if I'm bothering you. Thank you my friend.
