I'll never forget taking my grandfather to the first day of this game for his 85th birthday. He was raving about it months afterward.

I'm surprised it still hasn't taken off yet. As a viewer, it's great, both in ground or at home, and it's fun to be able to pop down to the ground after work and catch the final session. It's good for TV too, particularly if you work during the day. The differing conditions also lend themselves to a more balanced game between bat and ball. Cricket (including Test cricket) has constantly evolved over the hundred plus years it's been played, and this change preserves the core of the game but opens it up to a new audience. I really hope we see more of this worldwide.

Interesting list, but really think you should have included the 1981 AUS/NZ underarm incident in there somewhere, it’s a bit more infamous than things like Dhoni’s winning 6 or Lara’s 153*..

It's great for the fans as it's cooler at night, easier to sit in the stands without the sun. Also, no worries of office of school since it's in the evening. So the entire household and come and enjoy the game. Even people who normally can't find the time to sit through the entire game in the morning since they have to do house work, they can join too since all the house work is tended to.
