We've been doing without wolves for a long time.

People in the cities are pro wolf and tell ranchers how the wolves deserves to be there. If the wolves were in the cities eating their pets in their fenced yards they would be crying.

Love that answer, because it was the city slickers that out voted the rural people on this law. They also did it with the one on bears.

Ranchers are literally uneducated except for how to farm and produce meat milk and other things but lack the education about the land that was once flourishing with a 2.5 million population of wolves. Wolves balance the wild life curb the elk and deer. There would be less disease etc.. man was told by god to be his sheppard of the land we are to protect the wild life and all life while governing the land. Everything in this world is gods creation wolves included. They are very smart animals they can learn to stay away through deterrents

Been around wolves as well and learned from people who study them at sanctuaries people truly dont understand how majestic amazing these animals are. They work from before dawn and after dusk 7 days a week to feed our country. Fewer and fewer ranchers are sticking with it and few if any of their children are taking up the mantle. When the ranchers/farmers quit, who's going to feed us?

Secondly, why in the name of all that is holy would they give the enemy of the wolf the exact time and whereabouts of their release? Those “shoot, shovel, shut up” psychopaths have not only pegged the rural communities as poachers, it has given people no reason to trust in them with the responsibility. Even if it’s just a few bad actors, the kind of hatred espoused by those communities disqualifies them as trustworthy stewards of the species. Besides, what would you even do with that information? Honestly, they gave you the release date, Colorado is getting wolves back, and you had 3 years to preparel! Handle it! But don't be irresponsible. Then we can all talk about where they might be dropped.

​@@alycewich4472its not because of wolves, its because of multinationals corporations monopolizing the food system and pushing out family farms. Wolves help keep deer populations in check and farmers could easily deter them with proper fencing. The state should be funding wolf deterrence aid for farmers to compensate them for the cost of managing wolves

My county used to have more sheep than any other county east of the Mississippi. Some time in the eighties someone ( no one ever took responsibility for it) introduced coyotes into my area. Now there's hardly any one raising them. We have the best market in the country for them to boot. Give it time. There are hardly any white tail deer left in Northern Michigan. It hasn't been that long since wolves were brought in.

You know why more cattle die from disease then from wolves because we eliminated the wolf problem years ago in Colorado. Hard for a wolf to kill cattle when they aren't here to do it. But thankfully this issue was voted for by people that will never have to deal with them.

Those things cost money and time. Just what a low margin business needs.

Clearly, you don't deserve protection from a predator.

I bet you would be complaining if you went to work every morning and found out you were going to have about $800 deducted from your paycheck. That's what the market value of a 500 lbs calf is.

Basically it’s a bunch of people either mad that they have to set up precautions for their cattle and a bunch of hunters upset that deer actually have natural predators keeping their numbers in check again thus making it harder for them to find any for their game hunts

@@nancywalker1325 you realize ranchers also deal with coyotes, bears and cougars right? Maybe ranchers don’t want the wolfs here but that doesn’t mean they didn’t belong here originally. We just so happen to settle where they lived and hunted them down.
