Most people might be hearing the name “Barbados” for the first time. Whatever the case, Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of North America, and is the most easterly of the Caribbean islands. It lies on the boundary of the South American and the Caribbean Plates. Its capital and largest city is Bridgetown.
Mia Amor Mottley is a politician and lawyer from Barbados, born on October 1, 1965. She has led the Barbados Labor Party (BLP) since 2008 and has been the country's eighth prime minister since 2018. She is the first female to occupy either role. She also served as Barbados' first prime minister under the republican government after her proposed constitutional amendments ended the nation's constitutional monarchy. Now, she is spearheading an ambitious vision to upgrade Barbados's infrastructure and empower its people to thrive.

Someone living outside of Barbados would see this video as being impressive, however, those living here like myself would see it as a little insulting...the author needed to do some more research as well as learn how to pronounce Barbados and Bajans properly. Also, do note that Mia Mottley is Barbadian, to continually say she is a sister of the African soil gives the impression that she is directly from there. Yes, we know our ancestors are from there, that goes without saying. She is Barbadian, period. Three quarters of the footage used in this video is not in Barbados. Don't know anything about a rail system in Barbados... Who the heck is Mark Darcy???? I believe the CEO of the Barbados Port Inc. is David Jean-Marie. Please do your own research, do not depend on videos like this to expand your knowledge base as the intentions are usually not sincere, it may all be for popularity.... or likes.

I will try to present my outsider's opinion on PM Motley of Barbados. I think the narrator provided their own perspective of this lady. People have every right to disagree with what has been said. However some facts about Motley cannot be denied. Call me biased but inlift my cap for Motley. I do not live in Barbados and I am not defending PM Motley. But some facts needs to be highlighted about this lady. I think putting this lady down is unfair. She may not be perfect but bear in mind that this lady is changing thimgs in an environment of the negative stereotypes about black.leaders. We kive in a world where being black and a woman makes other people think and believe that a black person is incapable all round. In this regard she is running against a storm. As black people, the word sister is a sign of respect. This is because she is of African heritage and a person from Barbados,a predominantly black nation. This is a form of respect. Peter Tosh left us a song and reminder that no matter where you come from as long as you are a black person you are an African. It is natural that some will love this powerful lady while some detest her. Lest we forget, the colonisers negatively potrayed Africa to the islanders just like they did the same with Islanders to Africans. But if I have a brain, I judge for myself. Mia Motley may have flaws in her delivery of her service like all of us. At least she dared to put herself out there to face the wrath, criticisms, praise and motivation among other things of the public. She stood up to be counted. Despite what people may think or say, she will go down in history as having left an impact and a mark on her country's history books. Bear in mind, that these so-called rich countries are not perfect either. In fact what has been revealed about the inequalities and service delivery to the citizens of powerful nations is scary. While they castigate other govements for failing their citizens, I argue that this is a deflection. The deflection serves to create a false impression that their countries are ran smoothly. The truth is far from that narrrative. For example, I do not think there are tent cities in Barbados. But if one goigles which countries in the west suffer from poverty and inequality you will be proud to be a Barjan. Some of these countries fail to deliver clean water for their communities. Their people go to foodbanks. I did not see any such in Barbados unless I missed it. Mia Motley has elevated the status of black women in international affairs. She is fearless and unapologetic. She speaks truth and facts to the powerful. When she is on stage, she comnands her audience to listen attentively. Big men who lead the so-called powerful countries look physically and mentally uneasy. They sit there folding their arms in awe. They pay attention to her every word. Motley presents an alternative image of a confident political participant and a woman of colour. Her aim is not to make people like her. It is crystal clear that she means to talk to peoples' consciences. That is lady is a real game changer. I actually salute her for her professional approach. She has made international affairs interesting. Motley calls a spade a spade. Her speeches are well planned yet she never looks at them. She knows her stuff. As for mispronunciation, we all differ because we hear things differently. I have been to the Barbados as a visitor. As an African I felt perfectly at home. The island is clean. I visited someone who lives there notva tourist. I say this because some can say I went to tourist areas. We went almost everywhere. As they say in Africa, a healer is not appreciated in their community. This lady fights for the black person's image and rights. I could go on and on. I praise this mighty Shero. Not many can fit in her boots. She has inspired and motivated a lot of women and I think man too. To her I say, well done daughter of the rich, fertile, resource rich Mother Land. Stand up tall, do your best. Fear no one and apologise to no one. Truth hurts but you dare to speak it. Go on write your story for future generations to read. Salute. 🙌🙌🙌

How is PM. Mottley a great leader, what has she done for the Public collectively verses what she done for the Barbados Private Sector Association (BPSA) ? Mentioning Barbados doesn't mean that the Public is benefiting profit wise.....this voice @4:00 is lying saying travel by bus and taxi is expensive, how does he know, he lives here???? it is $3.50 by Bus, taxi is whole different ball game, it depends on where you are going, the fare is different, linking Bus and Taxi in the same sentence as expensive is misleading....this is how private interests operate, lying to the globe through treasonous representatives. This lady has sold, leased and transferred everything the people had to Private Enterprises......the Airport and Seaport are leased out...who gets those profits @dslapster64 ? National Bank sold, State Owned Insurance sold, Transport system soon to sold, the Medical Industry transferred to Private Interests, the General Hospital's equipment doesn't work, so you have to pay HUNDREDS of dollars to Private Clinics and Doctors, rich or poor , Sugar Industry and the by-products sub-industries sold to the Private Interests......the total money supply of Barbados as of October 2022 is $26.7 BILLION......5 privately owned Banks control 52% ($14 BILLION) of that $26. 7 BILLION.........Barbados HAS NO BANK to capture some this $14 BILLION, yet we complain about the Public Purse that is almost BROKE.......Housing, this Administration is taking PUBLIC LANDS (do you know what that mean, Public Lands ?) they are taking PUBLIC LANDS giving it to Private Developers, who build houses on the lands, and then sell us back our own land with a house on it via a Mortgage....so here we have no National Bank or Commercial Bank owned by Barbadians to capture some revenue from the Mortgages, and our own land is sold back to us by Private Interests via a Mortgage. Now, can you @dslapster64 give the evidence that PM. Mottley is great leader ??????

Lands that belong to the people are being used for corporate and tourism affairs, When Transformation are done to help a people as a whole, it is good, when transforming a nation to suit corporate heads, and making playgrounds etc. for the rich and famous and forgetting about the average man life and living, , just leaves the people of the lands in disarray, some transformations are just a sabotage of the people and the place they call home.

She can invest all she wants. The question is will investment reduce high food prices and the cost of living for many Barbadians or will things remain the same......If she's a WEF puppet then expect the cost of living to increase significantly 🤔🤔🤔.

When ah country leader has no vision that nation will perish...For what this world when through, it's highly unlikely that a nation such as Barbados to not be in debt,,,From where I sit, The most important thing for Barbados right now, Can it's leader attract investors ta invest in the Island,,,,and hands this leader has it....But they are folks out there who believe that Adam live 930 years.. Sad to say that so happens ta be long before mathematics was invented,,,I find it surprising that such folks didn't followed that Canadian family and move to Russia...

Motley must be paying this guy. What a bunch of BULL SHIT. Barbados is in disarray with the people struggling to survive everyday. But of course the people who doesn’t live in Barbados or knows nothing about Barbados would believe this BS. We are in desperate need of a new leader.

If true, who is paying for it. Is it the Chinese. If so, how are they going to pay China back. Look at Sri Lanka what China did. The same will happen. Barbados import 80% of all food most young people want to leave to get jobs. Barbados is a tourist destination. Just like Jamaica. Please, people, don't be fool by this remember Barbados is a small inland with a population of just over 350 thousand people.

Well done Prime Minister Motley❗ Praying that other Prime Ministers throughout the Caribbean follow your lead in becoming republics, in achieving 💯 sustainability using renewable energy, upgrading infrastructure, upgrading transportation with new modes of mass transit such as, lightrail systems and traditional railroad systems which connect rural areas to city centers. I love this woman's vision. Go PM Motley❗👍👍👏👏

Where did you get your info. Some of it is inaccurate and out dated. The repeated, incorrect pronunciation of the name of the island and its people was extremely annoying and disrespectful. Mia was not born in Africa!! It’s BaRbados not BAAbados. It’s BAYjan not BAAjan. Did you just read the child rhyme Baa Baa Black sheep? So annoying that you chose to keep butchering the name of Rihanna’s home!!
