Here's the thing, he'll never share the algorithm and you have no way of verifying that what he's saying is true. Trust me, he may think he's smart, but in reality (where I live), there's not a single PhD I've worked with that can ever achieve these returns on that capital. If I'm wrong, he MUST prove it. If I'm right, he'll stay silent.

It's possible. It's also highly leveraged positions to create those returns. So that means the max draw down is $1000.

Futures with leverage. And your strat should be at least 1:2 RR.

If you can do 0.5-1% a day, you just crank up the leverage. So yeah, it's possible, but the drawdowns and possibility of going bankrupt go VERY high.

@@soarq86 If liquidity draws up (no one to take the other side), That's the risk to create those returns. In a healthy liquid market probably not going to go bankrupt, just loose alot of risk capital. Unless it's overnighting where gap risk could cause for bankruptcy.

not really, you have to keep in mind that a strategy can make 10k a day on 100k but not 1mil a day on 10mil because of liquidity

@@Yursrv why not? the point I'm making is liquidity become a problem on strategies with larger account size. A strategy can have 10% return in one day with 1000 shares but if you try it with 50k shares it won't work because your order will not get filled. That's why large funds use different strategies across multiple assets. You can't become the richest person using the strategy for 100k account on a 100mil account. You can become wealthy in 5 years but not the richest person with the same strategy.

I call this bs, he either has a system which trades stocks, and an ML model that can find a specific correlation that can give him the edge , which I don’t think he does. Or he has bots trading indices which he can get those returns maybe for a short period of time, but I highly doubt it’s a good bot, because risk profiles on this kind of bot would be crazy.

you know you don't need a developer, some of the platforms today, have easy ways to create algo, FREE or very cheap if you can pay someone that may be able to do it in just a few days if it's simple enough

Yeah, I also don't believe this. No algorithm is so good. Besides with $1000, 5 consecutive losses and you're out of money. One of the reasons why I stopped (or paused) trading is because I started to do realistic backtesting of my strategies and you realise that no matter how clever you are, as long as you play with smt like $1000, the market almost always wins. Unless you're really genius, which so far I am not. /that was tested on indexes, on individual stocks, I guess it's different, but it's hard to backtest the strategies on them, bc you usually screen them in advance/
