5:26 emongg is one of the nicest overwatch streamers who gives advice for free. the tiktok commenter saying to "stop pausing l m a o" and then emongg immediately clapping back with a pause and a smirk makes me so happy that he doesn't just take shit from shitters.

Virus is an entry cooldown - this sombra keeps trying to use it mid 1v1 and missing. Hack should not always be the entry anymore only for the tracers/baps etc of the world

A sombra that can use the CD combo correctly depending on the target is hands down the most frustrating thing to play against. She was the reason I no longer play this game. Her TTK if she hits it all (which can be done easily if one just merely plays sombra for a couple of hours) is as fast, if not faster, than a tracer one clipping all headshots at point blank range on a still target.

There’s the gameplay loop of always hacking health packs, but there are other downsides to consider. If it’s too far from the fight hacking it increases your downtime which is sombras devil. If the enemies hear you hack you lose the element of surprise which is when you have the advantage. The counter to sombra is awareness. On the same note, if enemies see a health pack is hacked they see the timer. If it’s full they know you’re nearby. That said, if the fight is likely to happen around a health pack, you’re moving towards it to take the health pack already, or you’re near your team and not setting up yet or you’re forced into a more brawl situation than flank, it often costs you nothing to hack the health pack while you’re doing what you’re already doing if you never hacked health packs This is why it’s important to not only remember what streamers say but understand why they say it

Just something to consider, as you said enemies will be cautious around hacked health packs, but that can also be a distraction. Don't go out of your way for it, but hacking a health pack you'll pass by anyway can give you opportunities.

@@Chr0n0s38 maybe in some ranks. In mine it’s more likely to get me killed because the enemies know where I am. Either that or the distraction isn’t significant enough. The best distraction is real pressure (ie shooting them)

@@assimilater-quicktips Not quite what I meant. This is a pretty specific case, basically you hack a health pack that you pass by but know you won't really play around. An example on Dorado 1st would be the small health pack the cart passes around the bridge. It's dangerous to play in there, but that hp is important for attackers, so you deny it and if the hack is recent enemies will look for you there instead of, say the bridge they pass under. It gives you an easy virus+hack. Basically just misdirection.

some health packs are just valuable hacks to deny enemies access to them. Like if you can manage to hack their mega on night market, or their mini on control center. Even if you don't stay in that area, it'll help your allies confirm kills by not letting enemies use it.

@@sawah765 sure, if you see evidence that they’ll use it. If they’re never gonna fight in that vicinity or use it anyways you’ll just increase your downtime

U had a dive comp with Ball and Genji: as ur solo kill attempts weren’t successful, why not just follow up on whoever ur ball and genji is going for? Sombra is still a powerful dive hero if ur willing to play a team game.

Something I’m seeing. They’re leading a lot with the smg/ hack when going for back line peels and 1v1s and trying to use virus mid fight. Which just isn’t what she’s great at anymore. Virus is more of your leading ability. Hack is a lot better for ability cancel. I usually only lead with hack if I’m 1v1 with people like Lucio, Sojourn, or Ana, where they can leave faster or have an immediate counter if I don’t kill them immediately. Also. They have a very good dive comp and they’re still trying to be very solo play with it. If they would follow up with their ball and genji they would get better value trying to play around them more

If you play sombra and you're in gold, just switch games. She gives you every advantage, fps games arent for you.

Always hack a health pack. There is zero reason not to. If you want a practical application, fought a sombra as echo on Suravasa recently. I lived with 70 some odd hp. And I picked up a health pack that was directly next to where they were playing.
