Pikamee's graduation was one of the worst moments in VTubing history, and it was only worsened when you learned she had been harassed growing up. When Henya debuted I had no idea what the excitement was for until i finally watched a bit of it, and that voice gave me the same reaction as everyone else does in this video, and ive been a Hentai ever since on Twitch. So happy Henya is here, and she has been able to do so much since her debut.

She seriously is just a sweet innocent sweetheart. Attacking her is the equivalent of kicking a Puppy. Even everyone in VShojo state there is something about her that just makes you want to protect her. I love that now she can be more risky and more her gremlin self as Henya. She literally turned VShojo around and made them a true Vtubing Corpo. Their now more collaborative and close. Whats funny is she was the Oishi of many vtubers that are now just as popular. She was an inspiration to so many to be yourself and to become vtubers. Mint , Pippa.

Pikamee was the first and only vtuber I watched that actually read chat, I said I was having a bad day and it was my 18th birthday 3 years ago. She read my comment and tried to cheer me up. She didn't have to do that but she did. I was drawn in by the fact that she never made either her Japanese or English audience feel unseen. I wish Henya the best because I know deep down she's a good person, you can tell. We love you Henya!

The Hogwarts Legacy drama caused her so much unimaginable stress. Although she’s been back and fine for a year now, it still infuriates me that she had to go through all of that just because she wanted to play a video game… But as long as Henya’s happy, I’m happy. But if they dare try to strike again, it will be war.

When Henya was waiting for her surgery with her mamanya IRL, her friends were with her on discord comforting her. Ironmouse, ever the old hand with medical procedures explained to her what was going to happen to help ease her mind.

If anyone is wondering about her deeper voice closer to her debut, she revealed in a stream that she learned to make her voice deeper to fit in and not be bullied for being different or accused of trying to act cute. Her higher pitch voice was actually her natural voice, and she switched back once she felt comfortable vtubing. It kind of became a meme that it was a different pikamee in the beginning.

I wish they mentioned how zentreya kidnapped henya to multiple collabs. So that henya would get used to everyone.

I started to work overnight at homeoffice, because of my father's illness and constant need of care. He sadly passed away after two years of struggle and I couldn't fix my sleep schedule because of PTSD, waking up every minor or imaginary noise. I find Pikamee during my father's illness period and she was the sole reason I stayed positive, smiled to time to time. I resonated with her in many ways as I'm also a mixed in an ultra-nationalist country and targeted many times solely because of that. Long story short, she saved my arse man. I take a huge challenge and start to write my novel around her graduation news, and it is going really well. I'm still overnighter but hell I'm enjoying every second with her streams. Sorry for the long post!

Henya/Pikamee is someone with a heart of gold. People just can't let others live their life, can't they? She probably won't read this but just know I think she is a wonderful human being, and to never be brought down no matter what. ❤

I do feel bad that our lovely kettle is feeling sick atm. But Henya is great, she dreams big and works hard to achieve those dreams, with her 3D rather recent (a month ago). She can only go up from where she is, working hard toward being an idol and go for that concert she really wants.

I watched Pikamee''s graduation and I cried. I did not knew much about her but a friend told me about her. I gained so much interest in her clips and the content that she created. When I found out that she was getting hate all because of a certain game, I felt so sorry for her. I did even my silly Listerine Hair edit of her before she graduated as a gift. When she came back as Henya, I was so happy that she was able to still create content. She deserves so much love and support. She has gone through so much. What I've also noticed is Pika's design. She is proof that you do not need an over the top design to get fans.

When Henya "met" Mint (again) for the first time was one of the funniest and most beautiful moments in vtuber history! I love that we've reached a point where the TALENT can take center stage, despite what some corpos would like to have their talent believe.

The hatred Pikamee absorbed was unwarranted and undeserved. She did nothing wrong and got treated poorly. Just horrible. When I heard she was graduating ,I was so ticked because once again, some dummies caused a bright, kind heart to leave. And then we couldn't even enjoy her videos because they wiped off the net! It had me cry in joy when Vshojo said they had a new member and I heard that kettle dayo laugh .I was glad she found a home again. And if ANYONE causes this pain again, people won't be silent. You can support your movement w/o harming the innocent!

It was "Ohayo" for good morning, but since she was often very sleepy during morning streams she ends up saying it "Ohao" as if saying Ohayo while yawning. It stuck and became the actual greeting at some point.

Sometimes I completely forget that Henya had a past life. She had grown and done so much in the past year, and is so widely cherished in the community that it feels like she had been around for longer than just 1 year

She had a golden heart and it more or less broke mine when she was harassed. As for subhumans that harassed her ; Gods right is to forgive , mine is to remember.

I remember when that whole Hogwarts debacle happened. I had never watched Pikamee before, so I was unfamiliar with her. I decided to investigate myself whether there were was any truth about all the accusations of transphobia hurled against her. From the moment I watched her streams for the first time, I could tell the accusations were BS. Her positivity and laughter were infectious. There was no way she was the bigot everyone claimed she was. I even ended up a fan. I was pissed that anyone would harass her. Regardless of whether the harassment led to her graduation or not, it was despicable nonetheless. Absolutely unforgivable. I was glad to see she wasn’t chased off the internet by all the psychos and simply moved to a new company as Henya. I continue to watch her streams to this day.

I was as stunlocked as Koe was when I heard that adorable voice of hers again when Henya debuted. That was a damn good day dayo.

pika was the first vtuber i actually started watching the streams of, not just clips. There was something so comfy about her, every now and then i still go back to watch her laugh at that one bridge.

Thank you for this awesome video Rima. Even though this story is more known, its still good to have a video archive of what happened. Pikamee was one of first vtubers that i watched. It was the famous clip of the winnie the pooh baseball game. From there, i tried to catch a stream or just watch her vods. I believe there were rumors of her leaving voms project back in december of 2022, but the wizard game drama kinda push it faster ahead of schedule. Now with henya, shes just of one of cutest vtubers ive known and i love that kettle, as a friend dayo.

If the best case scenario for Pikamee was that she went completely MIA for 3 weeks forcing her to spend her final moments as "Pikamee" in fear of streaming, then it was still really bad. I feel very little sympathy for those that hide behind others to excuse harassing anyone, which is precisely what they did regarding this. The only good thing to come of it is that Pika was an unfortunate martyr, & since then there _has_ been a shift in tolerance for that kind of harassment on the internet. & That she's currently thriving.

I don’t get how there’s genuinely people out there that see a petite vtuber model and immediately call that person a pedo….. like most vtuber models are based off of the irl talent ie some people in this world are naturally petite. I have never been into vtubers in general, but I've been watching Henya for years in both her incarnations. She's just such a delight.

I discovered Pikamee around the same time as the Hogwarts Legacy situation, and I've always liked her. I will say however that I do find many of her fans difficult to converse with due to how many of them struggle to separate Pikamee/Henya from the real person. Pikamee/Henya's first language is English, and she was raised in the US but moved to Japan at 14ish. She's half-Japanese and has blonde hair, which made living in Japan very difficult for her on top of not being fluent in the language. She's a grown woman playing a character and/or being herself with the volume turned up to eleven. I don't necessarily think she has a voice filter like some other VTubers, but you can definitely tell that her mic's settings are not optimal lol. Compare her various "voices", and you can definitely hear the mic distorting her voice somewhat, especially in comparison to her Pikamee days where she sounds much clearer. Regardless, she's awesome, and I hope the IRL person voicing Henya understands it's not the character we love, but her.

The pikamee experience in my perspective is something unique. I never really like vtubers and vtuber cutlure but Pikamee has a style and experience that I couldn't get enough of and its very heartwarming. So when she debuted a year ago I was very happy. Although she's playing a different persona now and is more involved in more vtuber culture I still support her even if its just watching her every now and then.

I learned of Henya almost a year ago and I used to lurk in many streamer’s streams, but when I got to Henya’s stream I couldn’t stop laughing. I made a comment for the first time in a vtuber stream and a lot of chatters were rolling. From their on I’ve had nonstop joy from her streams they’re always wholesome and funny, and the chat does reflect the streamer so thank you for covering this Rima you the best.

Even if Pikamee was planning on graduating before hogwarts, it doesn't change the hate was unwarranted not to mention we nearly lost Silvervale too... over a fucking game based on franchise they loved as kids. FFS as I that as I was typing another tweet from the hypocrite and perpetual victim was on screen. Never forget. Never forgive. Vitriol aside hearing the kettle was back was incredible, many tears of happiness that day. She'll never be called an "idol" but she doesn't have to, Henya is just Henya and thats more than enough. Definitely bias but it feels like Zentreya got left out especially given their bond in VShojo is undeniable. While never officially acknowledged outside the lore video, it is pretty safe to say Zen was one of the people who got Henya into VShojo. Since day one its pretty much been a goddamn sibling rivalry and its only gotten better over the last year with how *everything* has to be a competition xD

I used to love her Tomato friend (the red haired girl), a Japanese vtuber who didn't know much English and wanted to practice English, so they'd sometimes stream together in broken English with some hilarious results, Pikamee was clearly good friends with her

I followed this situation a lot and Pikame did not deserve any of this I know some people will say “oh, well she was going to graduate anyway”and that’s not what I’m pissed about, what I’m angry about are the people who organized a harassment campaign against people who just wanted to play a stupid video game and ruthlessly bullied people and claimed that they were protecting a minority group to make themselves feel superior or like they actually did something with their worthless lives. People like that bullied a woman who just wanted to enjoy her last few weeks as this character with her community and then the same people who bullied her proceeded to celebrate her graduation as some sort of victory for themselves. Then those people would realize what they did was messed up and would either deny the whole thing even happened or double down and say she deserved it. That is what I’m pissed about that these pieces of garbage ruined what was supposed to be a happy time for her. But I’m happy she was able to continue on as Henya and is finally enjoying the success she deserves and I hope she continues to see continued success.

Another thing that made the Hogwarts Legacy drama upsetting is the author herself had 0 involvement with the project. It was all an original story taking place in a completely different point in time from the source material, it was a perfect way to disassociate the author from the product since the IP itself is still popular but people still chose to become hostile. I’m really glad that Henya is doing a lot better and made more supportive friends in Vshojo though I’m not sure if she’s been able to collaborate with other Vtubers like she used to.

A classic war between two factions of equally chronically online individuals, except this one coincided with her retirement from VOMS. It's really disgusting and you see this all the time to be honest, people using these creators' channels of communication to fight a war in which more than often the creators themselves aren't involved at all, and using the things that happen to them, such as retiring, as ammunition and justification for... well, pretty insensitive (to put it gently) comments about certain communities. Even today I'm still seeing people commenting stuff like "transphobia is based" in content involving Henya. The worst part is that because the creators aren't involved in this stuff, and because it affects their or their managers' bottom lines, they generally can't really say anything about this or speak up either. It's a really difficult situation where they have to witness a lot of weirdos say bad stuff to each other, stuff they may not really agree with, being somehow indirectly responsible for it and not being able to stop it or do anything about it. No wonder they have to take time off, and some even have to retire because of it. I'm probably not the one who should say this, but many of those people would do well touching grass and realizing that behind the avatar there's always a real person.

Henya didn't deserve that. I'm glad she's with Vshojo now. Mouse, Zen, and the others won't ever let her get harassed like that again.

Pikamee was how I 1st got into the vtuber scene other than Korone, but mostly Pikamee with her charm and overall beaming personality and charm. When the Hogwarts harassment happened and she Graduated, it really struck a nerve with me. What made me more sick was those proudly saying the harassment didn't lead to her graduation which was them just denying the cruelty that she got. Absolutely appalling. To even call it just plan backlash ticks me off because it a term that justifies the cruelty that she got. Seriously I hate it. She didn't deserve what she got or equally used to attack others. Removing all the political rhetoric, shows someone harassed because she was so far removed from the toxic political sphere and just wanted to have fun, ignorant to what was going on. So unfair to her and Seriously, those who target her can go away. I'm really glad though she was able to change and continue being her beaming and charming self through a new persona and continue to have opportunity to make us all smile everyday. I really got drawn into VTubing largely because of 2 things: Asmongold reacting to Mouse singing and Pippa - particularly as she started standing up to what was happening to Pikamee - Silvervale... because they dared to think about playing the wizarding game. Ironically I think there are a fair amount older guys like me that were drawn in because of it being the latest front of the "culture-war". Lol, so Phase and VShojo (though Ironic with the Silvervale situation) seem to have benefited and drawn in the very fans that the gatekeepers never wanted in the fandom.

Fun Fact: "Dayo" is a way some Japanese people speak Dayo. Its not necessarily Henya's catchphrase dayo. Dayo.

Thing is that Gyari's statements were more indicative that the graduation was planned but was NOT intended to happen when it was actually scheduled. it should be considered that the then pikamee had issues with some of the restrictions that gyari had for what she could or could not do in certain context. she wanted a 3d model but gyari wanted to make the first 3d model for her. she wanted to do music, but i'm not sure where that restriction from gyari would have come into play. despite the freedoms that she had being pikamee, she simply outgrew what gyari could provide in both a timely manor and with the resources he could provide. HOWEVER, it shouldn't be assumed that pikamee actually wanted to graduate within a few weeks of the voms anniversary and the pop up shop, we can assume that based on gyari's statements about his conversation with the pop up shop provider, that the graduation was a bit unforeseen in the timing and that it while was talked about and planned to some degree, it was not intended to happen when it did. knowing how much gyari doesn't really care what his talents do, and his support of pikamee as a whole, we can theorize that if the graduation went AS PLANNED, pikamee would have had a seamless transition to henya w/ vshoujo. the anouncement would have happened a month from graduation, content likely would have stayed up, and then the graduation would have happened, vshoujo would have anounced a new member and she would take a weeks break to swap everything over to her new persona for that new members debut. I also seem to recall the amount of merch for her graduation being more limited then it should have been, but that's a bit of speculation. The indicators are more that the hogwars legacy drama DID HAVE AN IMPACT on her graduation, but not in the way that most people initially assumed, or seem to want to completely dismiss it's impact on the graduation entirely. it seems that the graduation was planned, but because of the hogwarts legacy drama she wanted to wash her hands of the character more completely then she otherwise would have and in a much more hastened manor. the harassment she received tarnished the character in her mind and she didn't want to interact with the large vocal and vicious western audience that harassed her so. she did not stream on twitch, her KZfaq streams were mostly if not entirely in Japanese, she didn't interact with the English audience much at the last month of her time as pikamee, these are all indicators that the Hogwarts legacy drama was a primary factor in when and how the graduation was handled more so then anything else. that drama, no matter how you interpret it did have an impact on her decisions to graduate, and how she handled the graduation. that drama robbed people of any real interaction with her and any extension of her time with voms until she left on better therms then she did, to join vshoujo. to say that the drama didn't impact the graduation is countered simply by actually reading the statements that have been put out in context. gyari's statement "confirming" the graduation was planned, didn't say that the graduation was planned for the date it was set, it said that he was in talks with pikamee for a long while about graduation and was planning it when it happened. there was likely more that would have been done on gyari's side given more time for the planning to happen. you shouldn't take what was sad as explicit confirmation that the graduation was planned _exactly_ like it happened, as that's just not true. and gyari never confirmed the timing was actually the intended timing, only that the graduation was in the planning stages, he knew about it long before it happened. at the end of the day we will never know the exact impact of the drama on the graduation, whether my perspective is complete coping BS or if it's exactly what actually happened or would have happened given that the hogwarts legacy drama never happened. i read too much into the psychology of things anyway, there are things i notice about behavior and the way people say things that indicate more then what's just on the service. this is just another example of me reading the behaviors of those involved their speaking tones, and their emotions that leads me to believe that my perspective is more likely to be true then not. no one involved was exactly enthusiastic about the graduation, and it seemed more solemn then it would have been otherwise. pikamee's graduation merch was a stark contrast to the mood and the tension that we experienced during the actual graduation. it didn't make sense for a happy go lucky pikamee to graduate on such a solemn note with graduation merch that seemed more to celebrate the graduation rather then morn it. nothing about the graduation adds up even if it was planned. it's too odd on too many levels to convince me that anything was intended to happen when and how it did.

Just to clarify something on the people using pika to harass trans people : I am trans. I have received FAR FAR more hate from the " trans activists " and the hogwarts haters. I even got death threats from these people for pointing out that there are several trans characters in the game and it's very diverse.

I am just glad that Henya joining VShojo has exposed her to a lot more people in the Vtubing/Streaming scene, even getting some of them to admit having her as their Kamioshi. Though there's no guarantee that Henya will be safe from future harrassments/bullying/issues, I believe these people she met and collaborated with will be part of those who will stand up for her.

I'm so happy for her. I had never gotten to catch a stream when she was Pika but when I heard Henya's voice in a clip, my face lit up like Koe's. It's good to have her back and to hear she's living in her best moments. If that ever changed, I'm pretty sure the internet would descend into war.

Oh boy i remember some british youtuber made a video of Pika/Henya on a noose and at the end he got doxxed over it. Funny part is that those who took park of the harassment were also doxxed.

tbh i never been a huge fan of pikamee though i know her because in my country people is talking about her on socmed and im just watching her vod like once a month because im not really on vtubing, then slowly im starting to like her and sometimes watch her live stream but sh1t happened because of the HL war. i was powerless on that time since i dont really know how to defend her because im kinda new watcher and a vtuber fan so i was so frustrated and hopeless until she announced her graduation and i was in awe. until she reincarnated and become henya that i decided to watch her full time and promise to my self to protect her this time because she dont deserved any of that harassments. lately some people is starting to bug her again like in twitter and on livestream but seeing her with vshojo and other friends defending her i feel like she is not alone anymore.

Something that's frustrating about the initial controversy, which also repeated with Henya's design, is that petite *does not* equal underage. If you've interacted with women irl, it should be pretty obvious that bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and not everyone is curvy with giant badonkers. Yet on the internet, small proportions gets the character labeled as a child and sparks controversy. It's a real "touch grass" issue
