Removed my junk 68rfe and put in a southbend dual disk clutch and a g56 transmission. 6 speed manual is definitely the way to do.

How did you flash it with a manual file?

Really considering swapping my 68 for a G56 as well. How are you liking it so far? And where did you get you G56 from? Can’t find one for less than 2800 plus 1900 core charge on the internet. And my 68 is still in good shape so at least I will be able to make some money back after everything.

Did you use parts of the A/T wiring harness or did you swap with the M/T wiring harness?

Yup as much as I would love to do this to my truck, I’m leaving it the professionals. Just my IMO. Good work man, looks dope as hell

Coming from a guy whose never done it before and just dove right in, you'd save a lot of headache and time by taking it to a shop. Of course it's gonna cost a lot of money though. But It'll feel nice to say I did all the work when I'm done. I'm already a few months into it. Reason being is 1: I'm still learning as I go 2: I'm saving up money for parts 3: it's cold out and my garage isn't insulated or heated 4: I'm waiting on parts to arrive 5: I procrastinate Best of luck to ya

@@gagepuffinbarger6939 I love my truck but I wish it was a manual, so doing something like this would be awesome. But Yeah your right, I would be really satisfied with myself if I complete this project myself. But taking it to a shop would be better for myself. Especially since I don't really know that much on trucks and doing this myself would take forever to complete. But congrats to you man for taking this project on and finishing one day. good luck to you too!

I have a couple questions do you have to change the backing plate on the motor for the G 56 to both up to the 6.7 and and what program did you use to flash the Computer

Good job but wouldn't it have been easier just to sell the automatic truck and buy a manual truck?
@gagepuffinbarger69392 жыл бұрын
Hard finding a manual cummins that doesn't cost half a million dollars (I'm exaggerating)

I think it depends on your truck and the availability/market. If you have a trashed truck, yeah. If you have a nice truck that you've added many upgrades (small or big), perhaps not. I fall into the latter. Liked everything about my 07 5.9 mega. 48RE was the only part I didn't like, so I swapped. Also got to target the exact gearing I wanted in the tranny. Truck has 3.73s, so I went after a G56 AE rather than the AD.

I've got plenty of question 1. Does your exhaust brake still work? 2. Where did you get the ecm flash? 3. Does the clutch petal just get put in on the automatic bracket just needs pinned up??
@caydenhenninger64442 жыл бұрын
Yes it still works, got the flash/tunes from my efi live company (Anarchy diesel) and yes the pedal just pins right in just need the pin from the manual truck

The wiring is confusing ...like what fucking switch why did you just add a ground to a random wire like I'm so confused 😅
@gagepuffinbarger69392 жыл бұрын
So that wire that he tapped into goes to the clutch switch, then to ground. You could just run that wire straight to ground and bypass the clutch safety. That's what I'm doing. That's about all the wiring you need to do.
