This video was recorded 2 years ago and was thought to be lost on my old computer but it has since been recovered. This was a Gnome I made and I wanted to show the easiest way that I have found to add a mustache to a doll. I also explain the beard process near the end of the video. I am editing the versatile utility hand video that I mention in the video as we speak. I am using natural sheet fur but this technique will work with any kind of fur as long as the texture is fine. Keep in mind that natural fur holds up under heat styling, whereas synthetic fur melts. So I tend to lean towards natural fur. I trimmed it down to under 20 minutes. I hope you find the video useful. Please leave a comment and like the video. It would be very much appreciated.
If you are wondering why I do my beards this way, it is because my doll's heads are made to move. If the beard is really thick it makes it harder to get it to pose the way I want it to. I do this to make it look thick but it is actually thin. I hope I explained that correctly. In the past, if wanted to tilt the chin down toward the chest it would not move the way I wanted because of the thickness of the beard. So I do it this way now and it looks great and does not stop the head from moving. It also allows me to use less of my materials and keep prices low.

@@ooakartwithlindaE I had a look at the gnome book, it's by a Dutch Writer, my late Mother was Dutch, but I realised it was a story book, I thought it was a book about sculpturing gnomes lol 😆

I made a series of three videos where I make armature. My dolls are pretty big and it is hard to keep them in frame and not also have me in the frame. Lol, my anxiety is ridiculous, I know. Each of the three videos demonstrates a different way to make an armature. You would only need to watch the beginning section of each. With armature size is everything. The bigger the doll, the more heavy duty your armature needs to be. They American bull dog video is how almost all of my dolls armatures are made. The bones allow the limbs to be strong and stable but still easy to pose. I will eventually do a full start to finish doll video but it would be 10 or more hours of video. If I post it in real time without edits and fast forward, it will not be fun to watch. Lol but I will get brave enough to be in the frame through the whole video eventually I hope and will make one. Anxiety is no fun.
