Thanks man. I had bought a set and found out they hit the stock muffler. So I tossed them on the shelf and use these little bolts. Last winter I installed the Graves Motorsports slip on and found out I could now use the spools I bough two years ago.

moardub Now that I have some miles on my bike I can find it easier. So what you will be looking for is when your spinning the rear wheel around watch the lower chain. As your spinning the tire you notice that the chain will move up towards the swing arm. "What is actually happening is that the tighter part of the chain wont let it sag as much" so as juanjohnism is saying is correct. Any other questions just ask.

Great question. .so for the adjustment blocks on the rear you do want them to line up. to try and even things out adjust them so that the both are lined up with a notch. once you have that then proceed to adjust the chain by turning the adjusting bolts equal amounts. that way the rear tire will stay strait. After you have that done check to see if it fixed the problem. only change one thing at a time that way it will keep you from chasing your tail. Also Dave moss has a bunch of good stuff on his page. Let me know if you need anything more.

1/8 wire x2L hammer lock cotter pin is what's on the package I have. should be able to get them.at a auto parts store. The way i did it was took it off and matched it up with one. The expensive way to go would be to buy them from the Kawasaki dealer, but then it would be the correct part. Hope this helps.

I cant remember of hand. I just grabbed a few and teat fitted them till I founf one. Then I purchased a hand full. In a pinch you can reuse them.

@@dvss7459 you don't have to use a breaker bar, you can use a ratcheting wrench. As for the cotter pin I took mine to a local hardware store and mached it up. Buy a few of them that way you don't have to go back every time you make a adjustment.

Piston Slap is it possible to use the torque wrench to open it? Isee, which local store that you go? Lowe's? Home depot? Or something like pepboys?

@@dvss7459 your not supposed to use torque wrenches to loosen things up. As for hard ware home depot or Lowes will work

Never had a problem. Not saying this is the wrong way to do it other than the adjustment are easier to show then the bike is upright. Vs leaned over. That is for watching and commenting.

@@PistonSlap Most do it as you did in the video and the difference is minimal but there is a difference. Chain tension will be a hair tighter on a rear stand so if you adjust it to lets say the looser side once the bike is on the ground the slack may now be just over the allowed limit. Most average riders would never know the difference. I actually just did my chain adjustment on my 2012 zx6r and started to do it on the rear stand and remembered the manual said to do on its side stand and the adjustment I had already made was off and had to adjust slightly again once back on the side stand. And of course the marks on the swingarm to align the axle are never perfect so have to use an alignment tool or a good eye to see how the chain is tracking on the sprocket and adjust if its pulling to one side or the other. Small details that are easily overlooked leading to premature chain wear. But good tutorial overall though.

You didn't change the sprocket did you?

no just rear tire...it's set at the 3rd notch like it was .and like urs is..chain has about 2 1/2 play

does it even have to be at that 3rd notch..or can I move it back to tighten the chain

You can move it back to adjust it. How many miles do you have on your chain?

it's a 2013 but it was bought brand new last july..and has just over 3200

i usually set it on the loos side of the spec.
