It works, I kid you not! Right now I'm looking at a pine plank I bought last week at the lumber yard that looks like it's been outside in the weather for the past 20 years! Thank you very much, Mr. Cole, I couldn't have done it without you!

I tried this and figured out how to speed up the process. Instead of leaving the steel wool in the solution for 3 days, take the steel wool out after one day of soaking let it sit for 10 minutes so it rusts, put it back in the solution and it does the trick

Another person claims that adding 1 (tsp or tbsp ?) hydrogen peroxide after waiting just one night . . . but snipping the steel wool into the vinegar to start with . . . and it will darken it quickly via sped up oxidation.

You can heat your vinegar in your jar, wash out your steel wool with a bit of soap to get the factory oil out. Squeeze out the water and snip it into the hot vinegar. Let it sit over night. In the morning add one teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide and it will darken, then just paint away. No waiting a week. 😉

Thanks for a great video, Chad! You have a great space there - love the waterwheel and the koi pond. I do have a question. I really want to weather some pressure-treated wood that was used to put a tin roof over a swing. We are going to use some old barn wood for the gables, but you can see that ugly lumber and it really messes it up. Do you think the treatment will work on this lumber? I made a batch using your recipe and am letting it set up for the two weeks. Thanks for any advice and keep the great videos coming! You're awesome!

Angie Howell - Hello Angie! First off thank you so much for watching my video! I really hope you get what you need out of it. I hope you and your family are staying safe through out this CRAZY CRAZY WORLD. But as far as the treated wood goes I’m not a 100% sure how it will turn out. I’ve never tried it on pressure treated wood. Please let me know how it turns out when you do it. God bless!

Easy To tips and tricks Etc Etc - Thanks Ken! Yes sir I returned the favor already. 😉👍🏼 I appreciate your comment. I use to build houses with my dad prior to 2004 before he passed away from lung cancer. Installing stair cases was my favorite thing to do. I’ve built some that will knock your eyes out. 😆😉👍🏼

Chad I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I was taking care of my dad before he passed and it sure is a sock in the gut to say the least for sure! My dad and I also worked on houses Framing and stacking doing what's called pick up here in California yeah it's a shot in the heart. But I believe you're a Christian from how you're talkin and I take it your dad must have been a believer so that can you know put peace in your soul for sure all right just wanted to touch base on that then it mean to overlook it in your first response God bless and looking forward to seeing some of these pictures of these houses you've done if you have any that is. I sign my wife up to subscribe to your Channel she also has a channel but I was just trying to help you get to your thousand subscribers and I may have another person I'll have sign up as well alright take care By4now!

Easy To tips and tricks Etc Etc - Thanks! Yes sir my daddy was my best friend for sure. My daddy taught me everything I know about working with wood and Heavy equipment operation. Then my Grandaddy (my moms dad) taught me everything I know about flying and airplanes. 😃👍🏼 And yes sir I am a BIG Christian believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. 🙌🏼 Sorry to hear about your dad. That’s awesome that y’all worked on houses together to. I really don’t have any pictures of the staircases I installed. 😏 My dad’s widow/WITCH took all of our photo albums that my late grandmother(daddy’s mom) made over the years.

Easy To tips and tricks Etc Etc - THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me reach 1K subscribers. 🤙🏼😃🤙🏼 I will be making an update video on my Cub probably the end of this week. I’m still a long way from putting the wings back on. I’m having to change out both wing tips with wood like it was from the factory. My new leading edges will be in Wednesday afternoon. It’s coming together SLOWLY. Lol. I’m gonna have about $40k in it when it’s all said and done. I just payed a guy $23k last week to build me a brand new Continental C-85-8 engine. The factory matching number engine I took off was a wore out A-65-8.

Hi there, very useful video! Thank you 🙏 I have a question, can you use this method in treated wood ? Also do protect the wood from weather conditions after ageing process? I love the old look style, but I don’t want my new build cabin to get rotten and damage . Can anyone advice ?

I wish I knew but I’m really not sure if you can use it on treated wood. As far as a protectant I’ve never use anything on any of my projects after using this method. Sorry I’m not much help. Maybe someone else can reply to it. Thanks for stopping by and watching! 😁
