How to Appear Offline on Facebook Messenger

You can appear offline of Facebook messenger and the Facebook app, but you have to change a setting to do so.
If you don't want your friends to see when you are online on Messenger or the Facebook app, you'll have to toggle off the active switch.
In this video, we will look at how to appear offline both on the Messenger app and the Facebook app.

Legend! I had turned off the messenger active status but didn't know about the Facebook one.. I was confused because people still messaged me soon as I came on facebook. Thankyou!

Hi if someone turn off this availability at messenger, can we know by sending a message ? If we send message when users appear offline (when they are actually online), will the icon be a full grey circle with white tick to show they read ? How will we know users read our message during "off availability" mode ?

This is not true...I have done this on both my android & my Galaxy note 8 & a friend of mine says it still shows me active. What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this. For me it is a serious problem & I am so sick of if. Please help...thank you 🙂

Hi. My fb app is updated but there’s no option as to the “active status” bar..? Been wondering on how to fix it as I dont like to show Im active in Messenger if I only opened the fb app.

I have somebody who I have one two facebook accounts, they only have access to mobile messenger, they didn't take me off their friends nor block me.. but one one account they are active the other account they are not.. how did they do this on messenger? I know it can be done on desktop facebook, but how can this be done on mobile version?
