This is not escaping the trench, it's not going to be a grind for ego purposes. This will simply be applying 9k techniques in each of the respective positions to make people aware of the skills and techniques you can use in your own lower mmr games. This is strictly for educational purposes.

Most informative smurf match I've ever seen. I think it really makes a difference that you're genuinely teaching best practices and respecting the potential of your opponents rather than doing what most smurfs do and letting the power go to their head and playing like a maniac to prove they can.

not to take away from bsj cuz this is really good content i'm grateful for, but henry did a whole series like this twice in a row where he explained his thought process in excruciating detail.. i'll admit henry does tend to get a bit full of himself at times and his peak mmr isn't as high as bsj, but the hate he gets is disproportionate to those flaws.
@BzrLee
@BzrLee 3 жыл бұрын
@@prettymaladies its just the man is quite arrogant. Even top tier players such as ceb and w33 gets hate when they play arrogantly. What more henry that not only play arrogantly but also talk shit the most. The hate he gets is mostly about his attitude and if he continue on his attitude that i have seen a lot such as that puck game where he mentions "i deserve higher mmr and those here in my bracket are shit" where he is stuck at 500ish immortal and cant rise while pro player smurf accounts can reach top 100 fast is a good telling of his own skills. Even the fucking toxic E.E is in the upper ranks of dota despite his shity attitude because his skills suite his bracket. Henry does not have the excuse to shit on his teamates if he cant rise on his own.

@@BzrLee this is a factually incorrect statement man. he does buy accounts but it's not that often, and for specific reasons. I been watching him for a long time and I've noticed he buys accounts. but I also noticed him grind straight up to 7k from 6k in a month when all his smurfs got banned, and his twitch got shut down, and he had personal issues. he is narcissistic as fuck and I get that can be off putting but these false statements are just a bandwagon that people love to jump on against him for some reason. if its just his personality flaws then just don't subscribe or watch his stuff, there's no need to spread lies about him - what u said is just a regurgitated statement that has been around ever since he started gaining traction online. I literally used to not watch his stream half the time because of his toxic tendencies but spreading lies about him does me zero good and I'm not here to hurt his reputation just cuz it's in fashion to do so within certain spheres of the dota community

Holy shit. I will need to watch this 5-6 times and write everything down. Things I didnt understand: 14:30 - forcing FV timewalk before tower comes up?? What is it with the tower? 15:20 - he doesn't want to rotate = he doesn't care because of the hero Mars, or because he is 9k and doesn't want to invest his time into 2k pleb? 4 fundamentals to always think about 1) You need to be able to *clear waves* quickly (→ battlefury AM) 2) You gotta be *survivable* (can 1v1) (→ manta AM) 3) You need *killing* item (→ basher/abyssal AM) → force enemy rotations/get free objectives (towers, roshan) 4) You need *highground* items (assault cuirass, satanic, ..) *BSJ is being funny* Laning - he has nearly perfect LHs (he doesn't miss randomly = he played the hero so many times he is used to its attack animations) - he uses his spells either to deny voids creeps or to secure last hit + harrass the enemy - the goal is to get enemy safelane T1 ASAP => lane sustain items → boot the enemy out of lane → get the tower (vlads - good sustain + ↑ATK of jugg in mid to late) - quick hint - buy faerie fire (or idk how is it spelled) against Witch Doctor to sustain maledict damage (you can notice later in the game Immortal BSJ using neutral item Greater Faerie Fire to sustain the maledict because no one in our bracket gives a flying fuck about maledict after 15 minutes in the game) - draws aggro frequently → secures ranged creep with W - he wants the creeps to be under his tower under one of two conditions: 1) He doesn't have a ulti (below lvl 6) 2) He doesn't have the ulti (cd on Arena) - you can cut the creep wave to "reset" the lane - take the wave near T1 and wave for your creep wave (void gets free wave under tower but after that he is gonna be contested far from tower) - if you are pos 4, or pos 5 it is generally very good idea to let your core get solo XP (things you can do instead: block small camp so they cannot pull/help midlane by securing rune, by poking the other mid etc/go on enemy support and try to hunt him if you get him low/snipe their couriers) -it is 5 minutes in the game → catapults spawn - catapults are mini-objectives to play around because they deal massive damage to enemy towers - when you are trying to push the lane with catapult you will have to deal with the enemy's catapult first → your creeps will be delayed (by killing cata) and therefore there is going to be double wave created → ↑pushing power - If you don't kill enemy core it doesn't necesarily mean bad thing - they will either have to heal somehow which costs money (moneywise, it is cheaper to regen mana than to regen HP!!!) - first item is to clear waves - Vlads - it gives you HP sustain (lifesteal from W of Mars gives you HP from every creep you hit with it) and mana sustain (2 mana per second aura) - Void gets lvl 6 = big power spike in his ultimate but Void isn't really killer hero just yet therefore you need to watch for rotations (from my experience if you just KNOW that there is a thing called powerspike in Dota you can make your game very easily in 2k bracket, 99% of players don't care about that) (again, think of cats and mice) - Mars has 90 sec cooldown which isn't that long, there are way worse cooldowns - don't be afraid to ever use your spells! (Magnuses, Enigmas, Voids, Lunas, .....) - after being elusive towards void (pulling big camp) he runs back full HP, full mana to the lane and again starts to "loosen up" Voids HP → Void has about 50% HP→ Arena-spear = kill (kill is good, because 1) You can pressure the tower 2) You get money 3) Kill on Void means he can't farm while dead) -BSJ didn't mention it, maybe because he has an internal clock and feel, but he went to lane and kill Void when catapults showed up after min 10 = pressure on the tower is huge - he doesn't have ulti and FV does → cat and mouse = pulls again → didn't make it + there was enemy support = go away from the lane for a while and wait until it is under my tower - BSJ decides to go on Sven - but why Sven??? - 1) Void is really behind and will struggle anyway 2) Sven can farm fast so killing him means you really lower his farming speed - I would say that this is phase in which midgame starts Midgame - try to shut down farming carries (Void, Sven) because you are strong; how to be aggresive 101 = go in their jungle and use your shit, just like that - returns to top, because CREEPS = GOLD = ITEMS = POWERSPIKES = KILLS which can be then converted to push - another elusive move, because he doesn't have arena, but Void has Chrono - go behind their tower and cut the creep wave towards river → you can go mid, or stay → BSJ goes mid = he can pressure mid tower (higher map value than top) + he takes DD rune (POWERSPIKE) + he has Arena (POWERSPIKE) - when you make move when you are powerful, you can dive - you should immediately retreat if you: 1) lose the powerspike (you have used the ultimate) 2) See more people TP in (Towers have aura that buff allied heroes around them therefore it is not good to fight them (not to mention dmg from towers)) - he retreats but already knows where he goes, because he wants to kill CREEPS = ge goes top → he can pressure Tower because no one is on lane + someone has used TP to mid, so at least one hero cannot TP in to save the T1 - he solo-kills support = he gets money, support will be dead = you can force 4v5 fight, because there are still more ultis in game - goes back to top, to man-up to the Sven (Sven cannot kill him solo, because he doesn't have items) - he is survivable to man-up 1v1 thanks to Vlads, therefore he goes for solo kill items = Blink, Deso - notice that he ships a lot of clarities, because Mars has mana issues - Again, Mars has ulti = you gotta aggresive and shut down farming enemies = BSJ goes straight into farming Sven → Sven thinks he can kill Mars, but Mars is naturally durable → BSJ kites Mars towards Jugg and they use 2v1 situation to kill Sven (again, it is NOT NEEEDED to KILL sven but to make him feel UNCOMFORTABLE on HIS part of MAP) - notice that he watches items on other heroes (enemy and allied) (I have good experience with this. I have played a good amount of Legion Commander. Many players think that Linkens Sphere is the counter against Duel but when I learnt to always check enemy items I noticed them building linkens → I will go for Linkens-cancelling items. Ez game, when you spent 2k on Force Staff vs Core who spends 5.5k on bullshit item) - pushes out wave towards enemy bot T2 → TPs away to top = kills CREEPS, pushes wave → goes jungle (farms hard) - it is around 20 minutes in game, enemy casters have usually high level so they can kill you = you might need to buy BKB, because of that - BSJ is strong, because he has been farming a lot → wants to jump heroes around mid (his team is 2k-slow-paced therefore he got almost killed) → they take good teamfight, because having Deso on Mars feels actually pretty OP → they win TF → pushes and kills creeps - you can go to base to regen any time of game (I struggle with that while laning because I usually ship out regen with courier and try to soak XP from the lane while having 20% HP) → try to kill some creep camps while on the way *WIP, ended at **30:00**, ty for your support*

My biggest problem with playing in the trench is that a lot of things in dota don't pay off immediately, and when I know I'm not great, and the games are inconsistent, it makes it hard to realize in the moment whether what I'm doing is wrong or right. Even worse when you have a team goading you to do something else. Just makes it hard to learn/internalize new concepts. I definitely like this video, gives me more confidence in just doing what seems correct regardless of whatever else is going on. My worst enemy in any match is definitely myself.

I've found this to be one of the most difficult challenges when trying to improve. As a game with high variance, having the confidence to do what it's "right" can be difficult. If you are playing GREAT (compared to your rank) you'll still lose 4 out of 10 games, but you'll steadily climb. Keep doing what it's right!

Thats why you should look at your progress per week or month not perday, if you get more mmr that mean you do something right, that just it, my firstt calibration is 1.3 and im 3.8 at max, i notice something yes you mrr is going up and down, but once youre play style is according to some bracket, even if you loose tons of mmr you'll get to where you belong easily, thats just how dota work, and if you are somehow get really lucky and grind tons of mmr without having the capability to be in there, you'll loose tons of game sooner or later

As usual, awesome content and guide/s! Looking at BSJ how he played Mars, he doesn't stay in the woods for so long which can be seen in most typical low mmr bracket as an "OFFLANER". It only shows that when you play with your team and does a decent amount of pressure in lane you can turn the tides. Thanks man!

I got called a smurf on my 1.7k game because I followed the concepts you've been emphasizing BSJ. Don't care whatever your team is doing, just push waves. And I was also a Mars on that game. Thank you very much.

I rarely comment on videos, and since Mars is one of my favourite heroes with 90% win rate, I decided to comment on this one. I completely agree with you talking all the game, especially in the beginning of the video about scenarios when (not) to pick him. I have no clue why 140 people disliked this video... Or anytime you get a dislike. They are nuts. Maybe when you popped bkb right when you got it but shit happens and we all did that :))) Like I wanna tell my team, so I ping the item and suddenly whoops :)) But seriously, all the coaching, education, smurfing or playing with Arturo or Sumail, Qojqva series, literally anything with you Brian, top Dota content on KZfaq hands down.

I see a lot of comments like " In my game X happened and that wouldn't work in my game" I think the point Is that choosing a lane pushing hero, farming well, and constantly re-evaluating the situation leads to wins. Not ever game Is winnable, but I'm confident out of 100 games bsj would probably win 85 in this bracket.

I'm pretty sure one match of ranked smurfing is enough He's already getting wayy too much backlash from people for just this one game so it's better to learn what we can from this game and then apply his higher MMR fundamentals in our matches because as he said - the same fundementals work in our MMR too

good video bsj, I still always feel critical with this kind of smurfing in a low elo thing. The video is really informative and I think most people get your point and it does seem all logical and easy. On the other side you are still a mechanical superior player to them all, so naturally you will activate bkb and dodge some spells when other poeple actually wouldnt. Last fight mid t3, you pinned mars so quick I had to rewatch the scene, and dodged the chrono kind of. Before sven could bkb. ofc the whole video worked towards this point of going Highground and thus you should be probably ahead and still win the fight, but not everyone has that quick movement and dicision making.
@EuSou_o_Hommer
@EuSou_o_Hommer 3 жыл бұрын
He literally missed spears all the time, mechanical slills are good but ddidnt contribute much this game... The reason he had so strong impact is because every single decision he made he did for a conscious reason. Low rank players tend to just walk around and do things mecanicaly in game, not understanding WHY they are doing it. And offcourse he is better at quick movement and decision making, he is a 9k player, which is why he is doing this videos, to explain to everyone the reasons behind every action.
