A core part of self-improvement is to actually APPLY what we learn about, making a real difference in our learning, health, relationships...and everything else we hope to develop.
This is a simple and easy system I have developed to make taking action easy. I have also included the free notion templates down below, which you can duplicate to your own workspace.

Interesting video and definitely a topic I've struggled with! I've approached it slightly differently using the Pareto principle. I acknowledge that out of all actionable advice I come across there will be a tiny minority of things that lead to the greatest amount of value for me. I focus on those 5 simple things every day (Reading, Writing, Walking, Exercising, and Meditating).

Thank you, and that's absolutely right. If you get those right, you have a strong pillar for anything else that comes along, small or large.

Good advice, it applies to experimental work also when writing a proposal for example and one needs to read through many references!

Such a relatable video, and with actionable advice. Your channel has become one of my favourites! Being a reader, I used to go through books but not retain much information, defeating the very purpose of reading. Later I started highlighting sentences and saving them in Google Keep, a fresh note for every book. It had two benefits, firstly because I was writing the highlights down they became more ingrained in my memory, and secondly, I now have them all organised in the same place so its easier to look them up when needed.

Thank you, and that sounds like a solid system. Simple but effective.

Yeah - For any videos I save for learning, I wait until I can sit down, focus, pause after important points, rewind to hear things again, talk through the points myself, etc.

I like to watch the video to see if it actually resonates THEN add it to a notes playlist that I occasionally go back to take notes on. This is bc I like the first pass to be engrossed in the video and the second pass I know vaguely where to pay attention more closely.

Fun fact: The watch later playlist caps out at 5000 videos... Guess how I know.

The example you used at 3:48 looks very interesting. If you don't mind, what was the source of those notes? I want to learn to be a better listener so this seems very useful to me

I think the problem isn't that most people need to incorporate new systems but that they need to use their own system long enough to actually get the benefit out. Hopping on different systems gives the illusion of competence but sticking to one good system, in my opinion, creates flow. Great video as always brother!

Hi, great job on editing and adding sound effects. The microphone bumps and cracks are very annoying, however :)

Thanks and yes I agree. I figured out it was because the wire was rubbing against the chair -it won't be in the next video.
