I just found one in my hair a few days ago while lying on the couch. Out of curiosity, I looked up ticks online, and apparently you can get more serious diseases from them than just Lyme Disease. Encephalitis is one.

I live in an area of Vermont considered a tick low density zone. I’m constantly outside and in 24 years I’ve only ever gotten 4 ticks on me. This year I’ve already gotten 3.

Three years ago my wife scratched an insect from her leg without thinking about it. Then the very obvious bullseye rash appeared and she went straight to our Doctor. She never experienced any symptoms.

Use a "tick key" to remove when possible. Don't squeeze the body of the tick at all costs. If you think you have lymes DEMAND Doxycycline before the blood work comes back. It can show negative results if the spirochaete bacterium hasn't fully bored into and flooded the blood stream yet.

My 4 yr old had 2 on her last yr within days apart. I was panicked for few weeks. A few weeks after that ordeal, I had one on a body part I rather not say😅😂 I had it off with the swiftness and no side affects thank God

I've found ticks in my home a few times. Last Oct I got a deer tick bite while cutting back my climbing roses. I noticed later that I had a mark on the back of my hand. I thought it was poked from rose thorns. It turned out it was the ticks head and a few days later I got the bullseye rash. My GP put me on antibiotics for 10 days.

I found a couple crawling on me last year when I was out in the woods walking, but I didn't notice any bite me. I flicked them off as soon as I noticed them. They were typical tick size -- adult ticks I presume. I didn't know you had to worry about smaller ones than that. I kind of thought all ticks were about the same size. When I spend time in the woods, I do try to look myself over periodically. I frequently have to remove burrs and foxtails and such, so hopefully if I have any ticks I'll discover them as part of that search.

Someone once told me the ticks with "tekkies" sneakers (the ones with white feet) cause more tick bite fevers and illness than other ticks. Not sure if that's a fact.

Apply tick repellant when outdoors.

I live in the city in the midwest. Don't even go outside much but i had an attached tick a month ago.

I've had Lone Star tick fever twice and Rocky Mountain tick fever once. I can assure you that neither time was pleasant. I try to be very careful when out side, but so far nothing has helped.

My dad just got one on him up in AK. Luckily they got the head out and no issues came out of it.

Don't wear blue, they are attracted to it.

Had one of the little critters quickly run up my bare leg and disappear into my shorts. Was walking along a gravel road about 100 yards from the nearest forest at the time. Thought it was an ant or spider. Twelve hours later it sank its teeth into my groin. Owww! Luckily had bought some tweezers just the day before and it was out in a few seconds.

Yup I have it headache today antibiotics now ugh. It wasn't on very long. So we plated mint in areas we can control the growth.

My friends yard is infested with ticks. She lives on a pond in Cape Cod. She woke up with a tick on her face last week. She sleeps with her dogs that carry them inside even though the check the dogs for ticks before coming inside. I’ve been freaked out after hearing that and because my son is doing landscape work. I’ve shared many herbal essential oil remedies with her and other toxic sprays. She now tells me that nothing I share with her will scare her anymore then she is. We are afraid of catching Lyme Disease. I’m so creeped out by what she just told me… last summer she woke up with a tick on each of her eyes. 😮😬 Omg! I’d die. Can you imagine? A tick attached to each of your eyes? She thought she had eye buggers until she looked in the mirror. I’ve never been so freaked out. Omg! We seriously need to try our best using herbal spray for skin plus nasty toxic ones for shoes and work clothes. Permethrin works best for clothes.

A cotton ball wirh "Dawn" dish soap rubbed on the tick, will get it to back out in a minute. Throw the tick into a zip lock baggie and show it to your doctor.

And the worst part, ticks have 8 legs just like a spider.
