VERY helpful. I chose a granite composite and everything he said is true about finish and feel. Mine (Blanco) has a slight curve on the front side (not a farmer style) which is really nice. I'm excited to see it installed. Its an undermount.

I was concerned about stainless steel scratches when getting a new one (many varieties and size availability at good cost) but learnt how to take those out by fine grain sandpaper and make it look really shiny good again

@@RemodelMedia I ended up with a granite sink and I love it. I bought a Kraus KGU-413B, 31-inch, undermount, single bowl, black onyx, granite kitchen sink. I only wish it sloped a bit more towards the center where the drain is, but otherwise, it's perfect.

Do these sinks scratch, rust, or leave water marks? Everything in my kitchen will be stainless steel but I don’t want to deal with the ugly scratches that comes with it and the maintenance.

Thanks for such an informative video..... I've saved it on two of my Pinterest boards !! When I reno or have a home built, I'll be going the fireclay sink with back and side negative edge installation.... Never did like the idea of an area where water etc can collect with the positive edge or raised edge types of installs.... Take care :)

@@davidwitten3141 Hi..... Hope all is well with you.... I have not as yet purchased a sink like that one.... I'd love to, though... I have only ever owned enameled cast iron cookware.so I'm not the best to advise about what could happen if a cast iron pan is left in the sink for more than a little while... You could perhaps put a an old towel you don't care about in the bottom of the sink and put your pan on that...

My sink is crappy at the moment every time I wash something or even my hands I get water on the bench top towards the wall area which I then have to wipe which is annoying.Got to be careful to wash my hands carefully,I think it is just a cheap design.Just got into the pro perty.My last living place had a nice sink,never had that issue.

Good video! Thanks.... One of my concerns is the reveal. Sinks with rounded edges are going to have a big, angled space that collects scum, especially if you don't have a positive reveal. It seems like a S.S. sink with an extremely flat surface would provide the most attractive and functional seal regardless of if you had a positive or neutral reveal. I want the smooth attractive reveal, but I don't want a S.S. sink. I'm probably going to roll the dice and go with a Fireclay undermount.

I see reviews of stainless steel rusting and pitting within a week. From well known names. Also, there are apron sinks with just the front apron. Also you need to decide right drain, left drain, center drain. I suggest , decide on sink and space before ordering cabinet.

I bought composite granite sink for my kitchen remodel about 8 years ago. It was brown in color. After some time I started to notice a whiteish haze on the sink. Now we do live in a house which uses a water softener. But the discoloration of that sink does not make the statement that I wanted. I have not found anything to clean it long term. You can rub oil on it and it does mask the problem for a short period of time. I’ve had stainless before I didn’t like the drum sound even with a high quality insulated model. So at this point if I had it to do again I guess I would go with something that can be cleaned like porcelain, but colored.

Then I’ve got good news 😃. That’s only true if the sink you’re looking at is cast-iron. You can still have your sink if it’s fireclay. Fireclay doesn’t chip or rust the way porcelain enamel cast-iron does. So go get that farmhouse sink.

Replacing my old sink that is undermount andmy measurement was onnly 29 inch it is a double. What is the best and cheapeast for a deep sink only , jusy one bowl. I'm going to replace it. Which is best? Im going to sell in the next year. Im Having the facet replaced, baded on plumbers advice , cheaper to buy new than fix. Deep is for me. I basically updated refrigerator, Viking, meile dishwasher, and wolf dual range stove commerical basically, 14k six burner with a griddle. Two ovens. I hate it. Horrible to clean. But its a selling thing. Just want the sink replaced as i said . I measured 29 on old double undermount. What should i do? Loved your video susan
