@dmvmeu7140 No, not judging them at all. What I'm saying is that those people who can't hold a conversation with you, just aren't for you. You have to find like minded people who love to converse about the same things you do. Just continue to do what you're doing and you'll eventually find your tribe. You'll click with one person who knows someone who fits right in with the 2 of you and your tribe builds from there.

Conversation hacks The familiarity concept: offer detail and vulnerability to the question how are you? Make it about them: ask deeper and genuine questions, listen to understand not to respond Build a point on their answer to your question before you ask another question Focus on offering value Offer a familiar smile Keep it personal, ask questions about details, build up on past knowledge about the person Record and listen to your own affirmations to change your subconscious mind

You're a teen, and I'm an early adult. I'll tell you right now: whatever they say will not matter in 5 years, you're placing your priorities in the wrong place and asking the wrong questions. The question isn't "how do I gain confidence", it should be "why am I feeling and validating their opinions of me when everything outside of me is completely out of my control". Chin up, believe in yourself and appreciate who you are as you are and confidence will follow. It's all about mindset shifts.

It's really helpful and needed. I was struggling with social anxiety disorder and couldn't hold a single conversation with anyone. Whenever I try to have a conversation, I feel like they are not interested, and now I know why because of my social awkwardness, I was just answering their questions and that conversation started to become all about me I was not making that conversation about them, which means I was not engaging them or not even trying to make that conversation deeper. (I apologize if I made some mistakes in English, as it is not my first language)

So I got a call from my boss this morning an hr before a meeting - asking me to lead it - because she got a stomach bug - I said ok - This meeting had senior leadership on it and others above me on the salary chain - I said - you know what I will do the best I can - Im nervous - and I might stumble - but I knew one thing - I could say after the call - I said yes to facing my fears of speaking in front of people (and it was last minute to day the least) - But I did it - I stuttered - my voice was shaky - but I did it 🎉
