When the jackfruit is ripe , you can smell it a mile away. It became available in South border of USA from Mexico.Now I keep few ziplocs of it in the freezer for special desserts. Who cannot love jackfruit, ripe or green? It is supposed to be the answer to world hunger in places which succumb to famine when climate change render arable land desert like. It's a miracle tree. Delicious eaten by itself . The green ones are stewed till tender , taste like meat whatever ways it'.s cooked.😋

It is grown in parts of Florida and Hawaii. Also shows up in Asian markets sometimes. Also can be found canned or packaged.
