A value proposition is a secret way to be more persuasive without having to be inauthentic. A value proposition is a marketing message that someone uses to explain why a customer should purchase a product or use a service based on value. Whether you’re promoting your expertise to a potential client, marketing a product to a possible customer or pitching an idea to your manager (or your spouse), you should first pique their curiosity. You can do that with a value proposition or positioning statement. (Business types once called it a unique selling proposition.)
We use value propositions every day for a variety of situations. They’re statements that anticipate the tangible, functional questions (or reasons) any decision-makers might have for buying from you, hiring you or simply considering your proposed solution to a problem.

Literally binge watching your videos since I've discovered them (i. e. about 2 days ago. I know, I've been living under a rock 😬). Have also downloaded "captivate" straight away on my kindle and scored 120 on the investigation test in chapter 1 😉!! Very very interesting content. I can't help but keep thinking to join your team 😀 For this video, being honest, I couldn't help but keep thinking about your eyeshadow. It appears to be half applied over your eyelid which is a strange illusion. (You can tell I'm high conscientious 😅) As ever, thankful for all the wonderful and amazing info you share. Much love xx

Great video. The clarity + curiosity in the "non-elevator- proposition value" reminds me of evolutionary aspects of communication. We need to communicate clear, so the recipient knows that we are not a danger and we are consistent to our words (keeping cognitive effort low for the recipient) and to communicate with unexpectedness which triggers curiosity, because people always want to now whats behind the bushes (as we say in german). The rest of the video is also great because it tangents the book by the Heath Brothers (Made to Stick) in just 7 minutes. I really like it, and sorry for the long comment, but so I am remembering it more.

Thank you for this, I often think about how I share what I do with my youtube videos as a way to brag and I'm trying to let go of my ego and identity, now I am seeing how I can re-create the way I speak about my work on youtube as a value proposition.

I'm a fan!!! I've learned so much from you 👌 One thing that kind of distracted me was the make up.... seems kind of over the top. But maybe because this was catered to a more business like audience? While other videos about "regular" interaction between people, require a more natural look.....I guess 😁 Anyway the value proposition makes a lot of sense. Get a dialogue instead of a monologue pitch. That last bit about audience hasn't registered with me yet.

Love your stuff, and believe we are all in the "people business". I'd be interested in knowing how this would relate to Simon Sinek's "Start with Why" strategy. It seems reversed to his approach, would you agree? Have you tested the results? You cited him in your book didn't you?
