The one thing that ticks me off when watching movies like this is that the characters ALWAYS get bogged down/stop moving. They get 99% free, where only a moron could mess it up, think they've gotten out, and let their guard down.

I think their biggest mistake, was continuing the robbery after finding the unexpected locks. If they did all that reconesence first, they're experienced at this. And every thing I've seen from ex cons, they say that if there's anything unexpected they find they dip immediately. You cant get away with crimes if things dont go perfectly to plan. So anything that you didnt expect, not worth it

Plot twist: the old guy is just blind Old John wick trying to protect his dog from burglars

The girl that survived is lucky because not only did she get out she was lucky that the the man was blind so he couldn't describe what the girl looked like

First of all, each on of them should have brought a medium size soundproof backpack and put their shoes inside of it instead of leaving them on the floor. Next, after the veteran shot the first guy and the girl found out the pin to the safe, they could have stayed in their hiding place until the veteran took his dog on his daily walk and escaped. At that point the dog wasn’t needed in the house so he wouldn’t be an obstacle. This robbery was not time sensitive, so remaining patient and quiet would be their best bet. If the dog was in the house, they would need something to impair his strongest sense, his smell. They could throw black pepper in it’s face causing his eyes and nose to burn. Due to the loud commotion the veteran would be trying to help the disoriented and yelping dog and not hear them sneak away.

I like how he's teaching us how to rob houses instead of the main strategy to survive.

I still get angry everytime I see that scene, where the girl is hitting the blind man while the alarm is loud, but when she is about to have the critical hit, the alarm stops, and she, instead of completing what was already on course, stops for drama just in time for the blind man to recover hearing. As usual, dumb characters being needed for horror movies.
