I think they spared her because they respected her fight and tenacity. Probably. I mean yes she did lose technically. But she went out swinging at everything they could possibly throw at her. The other possibility they were all "human" so to speak at some point and her struggle reminded them of their own. And who knows, maybe they spared more people that they deemed worthy.

I've been thinking that she never really survived but just like everyone who got assimilated probably doesn't realize she's assimilated. Or maybe because she's one of the only few who fought back. The ending has a lot of questions. Why was she spared? Why do the aliens care about her past and gave her therapy?

Honestly, germ warfare seems highly impractical as a combat method on such a small scale. If she's trying to survive herself, she can't afford to wait until a pandemic situation occurs among the aliens, and that's even assuming that they're vulnerable to such with their technology and biology.

A pepper spray would have been a great weapon for this situation thanks to their massive eyes. 29:35 specifically here where the alien is up close like a complete idiot. Speaking of idiocy, my second point is these aliens seem to underestimate us judging by how comfortable they going inside the house and engaging in close combat without using any armor and weapons which gives us a massive advantage.

I love this movie. At first I found Brynn a bit annoying but she fought hard! And I love the strange but wonderful ending.

I wouldn't call these aliens "evil," they showed benevolence to Brynn once they empathized with her trauma. Then they adjusted the behavior of the towns people to be more kind to her.

Really I liked how the aliens were actually able to sympathize with her as she’s almost like them. Being alienated by society and not giving her all the care in the world, her own struggle against them really made them feel like yea she’s like us and that she deserves better and not to be harmed

I really love the fact that the main character is actually smart and the aliens are dumb like the main characters from any horror movies 😂

I heard a phrase that is kind of scary: "We are either alone in the universe or we aren't, both are equally as terrifying as the other." Because of the questions both bring. If we are alone. Why? Were there other advanced species? If so, why are they gone. If not, why was our species the only one to exist? If we aren't alone. Why haven't we met the others out in deep space? Are they just too far for their or our own current tech to reach? Why haven't we gotten some sign of another life? Are advanced species just bound to destroy themselves? Is that why we are alone or haven't heard from the other species? If they do have the tech to reach us. Why haven't they? Do they consider us a threat? If so, do they wish to harm us or run from us? Once we reach advanced tech, will they destroy it or worse destroy US to avoid us? It's scary, because there are to many questions.

Surviving a horror situation like this with How to Beat would be an honour to me, even if my only role is a meat shield.

Idk dude I think staying on the main floor actually was the better option between that and the basement- Escape routes aside, there's too many disadvantages to just staying in the basement. If the house suddenly collapses, she's trapped down there, if there's an entire swarm of them they're blocking her only way out, and, again, it's a basement- her available space to set traps and such contraptions would be very limited depending on the size of the basement itself. It could be as big as the main floor or just be one of those rundown 1-room basement ordeals you just use as a cellar or a in-house shed to keep your tools. Now if there was something like some connection to an underground bunker you'd have or something, then it'd be the perfect spot to play it safe. But as is, the main floor would still be more advisable, and the fact she didn't do the alternative of staying on the top floor where not as many but still more problems could occur, means she planned out things rather well~

The one thing that really got to me is that you know this woman has to have some gardening equipment. The two best weapons in a normal house are an Axe and a sharpened shovel, which is effectively a spear. While kitchen knives are really useful, which is one of the most important things, and it was completely ignored

The aliens look so creepy. It's a great twist on the usual gray skinned martians that are usually depicted.

Minus the annoying sighs and lack of her ever even talking to herself, she was a Gray Slayer 🤣🔥 I always thought that she was isolated by everyone, humans and the Gray's by the end. I loved the Grays, they were cool and especially with their telekinesis and the arm signals to their ship!!
