I love you, Mango 💕
The pirate life is a fuse that burns fast and bright. Living it grants brothers in arms, unparalleled freedom, and grand adventures. Yet, shackled to these boons are high risks of death, unpredictability, and the relentless pursuit by law and judgment. Due to these downsides, the vast majority of notable pirates ended up either killed at sea or hanged for all to see. As with most criminal professions, the pirates with the best chances of survival were those who kept a low profile and left the life slightly richer after a year or two.
But what if you didn't want to keep a low profile? What if you didn't want to settle for a modest profit? What if you wanted to forever etch your name into the annals of history as the King of the Pirates? For this video, I researched the Golden Age of Piracy to uncover what factored into a pirate's success. What steps would one have to take to not only be successful, not only become a legend, but also find a way out of the life loaded and unscathed?
By studying pirates like Henry Every, Zheng Yi Sao, Bartholomew Roberts, Blackbeard, and others, we can learn from their collective successes and failures to formulate the ultimate "Pirate King Guide."

I’m so sorry for your loss, I know how it feels to lose a dog. My loving Rio was my first dog and she nearly lasted 15 years. I had to have her put down because her arthritis made it so she couldn’t walk or stand and she was miserable. Back then there was no cure so I had to have the unthinkable happen. I miss her dearly. Anyways good luck to you and wish you the best.

My favourite pirate will always be Black Sam Bellamy. He was a New Englander like myself, was one of the richest pirates in history. Black Sam was known to be a fair captain, laying down such rules as "if there aren't enough hammocks for everyone, then everyone sleeps on the floor". Reportedly he started his career as a pirate because the father of his love, told him he couldn't marry her as a poor merchant sailor. He eventually returned, the captain of a pirate ship but was killed in a violent storm off Cape Cod. The Whydah Galley, his ship was discovered several years ago and is the only verified pirate ship ever found. Also I've totally held a piece of Spanish silver found in the wreck and it's about the coolest thing I've ever done.

Fun Fact: Marines were originally more of a ship police force than the naval infantry we think of them as. Their quarters and the armory would be between the crew and the officers. Most of their job would be maintaining order and discipline on a ship. There were a few cases though where *they* were part of the mutiny and that got the Royal Navy to make some changes to things like pay and leave.
