For those that are confused, or wondering why they have been doing it wrong the whole time. Etsy did used to work with exact phrase match and duplicating in the titles and tags was important. However it no longer is. It used to be easy to game it for those who knew the tricks, and is how I grew my store to a large scale. Now it is a level playing field, and writing keywords in a certain way or order is no longer relevant. Some of the advice on other channels has not caught up on this, and is why this channel is so valuable.

I think he is saying use "gift for" as a tag. "gift for" will be added, tacked on, to existing tags by etsy. So if you have a tag "gift for" and tag "new mom" etsy will in essence create the tag "gift for new mom" when someone searches gift for new mom you will get a exact match. So no need to make tag with "gift for new mom" and "gift for mom" etc. When he says don't worry about using it, it being "gift for", as a tag.... I think hehe please let us know though.

does this mean that it's a waste of space repeating words In tags. so let's say I have "gift for mom" "gift for her" would I be better off having "gift for" and "mom gifts" to get more words in. would Etsy then take the "gift for" from one tag and "mom" from another and get "gift for mom"?
