Body position accounts for much of trials and enduro technique - with such light bikes where and how you move your body has a huge impact on what the bike does. We can show you how to ride dirt bikes using enduro techniques and dirt bike skills. This happens less with a heavier enduro bike, but it is still a critical part of good riding technique. So... A key part of moves like this is the use of body positioning and weighting - choosing when to exert pressure on the pegs and when to de-weight or lift the bike up. How to body position on enduro bikes? Cross training means you will almost always be standing on the pegs of your dirt bike and learning how to use your body weight and positioning to maximum effect to apply trials skills to your dirt bike technique. Enduro training tips are based on techniques from Chris Birch, Graham Jarvis, Tim Coleman and other hard enduro riders. So learn how to ride enduro bikes our vids range from basics for the beginner dirt rider to advanced hard enduro racing!! While an enduro bike is heavier, these skills still play a major part in getting through extreme enduro terrain with ease. Want to learn how to ride dirt bikes with our free enduro training videos? Cross Training Enduro is a mix of trials and dirt riding techniques. This dirt bike channel also includes lots of wheelies, philosophy, reviews, and dirt bike fails videos. Experienced enduro riders will usually only sit for sharp corners, very difficult terrain, or conserve energy on an easy section. Become a subscriber to this dirt bike channel for extreme enduro training tips vids with techniques from Graham Jarvis, Ruben Chadwick, and Tim Coleman on wheelies, pivot turns, clutch control, traction and other critical skills for learning how to ride a dirt bike videos for beginners or enduro racers. We also have enduro fail vids lol. If accelerating hard or hitting rough terrain, simply crouch down further, then back up again to conserve energy. Your elbows are always up and out to give you maximum control. The popularity of extreme enduro, endurocross and hard enduro events leads to cross training enduro - trials skills adapted to dirt riding on enduro bikes. Almost all of the best extreme riders are former trials champions. Balance in your dirt bike riding also means you can spend more time standing on the pegs in tough terrain instead of sitting down, so you will have far more control. Point your toes in so that your ankles grip the bike. This should naturally lead to gripping the bike with your legs when needed. This means you won't have to hang on to the bars so tightly, so your upper body, arms and hands won't tire as quickly. This positioning makes the transition between standing and sitting easy, with maximum control of the bike during the transistion. These enduro training vids cover many dirt riding skills and dirt bike techniques such as body positioning for improved off road riding. Enduro clutch and throttle control technique videos? Subscribe to our Cross Training Enduro dirt bike channel for endurocross training and dirt bike riding skills. Maintaining traction is a critical skill hightlighted in our dirt bike videos. Learn how to ride a motorbike with tips from who has applied his trials riding to his techniques. Cross training applies trials to enduro techniques. The sitting position... your hand levers should be either horizontal or only angled down slightly. Trials riders can balance at a stand still for as long as they like - good for hard enduro riding! Cross training enduro has a strong focus on being able to balance on your dirt bike, even at a stand still - this is a handy skill when you have minimal run up to your next obstacle and learning how to ride a dirt bike. Getting into trials riding... Losing traction is a cardinal sin in trials riding and riders go to extreme lengths to ensure their tires don't slip. Body positioning and weighting are fundamental skills in trials, and watching top trials riders will help with positioning. This will be harder on your quad muscles.

BODY POSITION FOR STEEP HILL CLIMBS? Rough rule of thumb? As it gets steeper you are still in the default position but just squat more to lower the centre of gravity. Or if sitting on the seat, slide forward. Leaning over the bars is only for when it's very steep and must be done to avoid a backflip. I base this on training with Chris Birch we did years ago. Other enduro trainers may disagree of course... OVER 100 FREE ENDURO TRAINING VIDS English not your first language? Subtitles in 30+ languages! Great advice Barry, I've been watching your videos for just over a year now and have been working to apply what I've learned. For practice and exercise, I suggest laying on your back and have a 'buddy' lower the bike upside down on top of you, hands to bars and feet on the foot pegs. Start by holding the bike in that position (arms and knees bent of course) and then move onto doing presses with legs and arms. You should drain the gas tank first, otherwise you get the gas spilling all over you. You need a friend that sticks around too because the only way out of this is to drop the bike on it's side, and none of us want that!

Just been out for a ride this morning and practiced the standing attack position. Felt really good and secure at speed when I was practicing flat corners, and the transition from standing to sitting flows smoothly. These last couple of vids and practicing the techniques has firmed up my resolution to upgrade to my next bike now. I just cannot find a way to lock my knees into the KDX to provide a stable anchoring position with my legs on hillclimbs, which I need to be able to do to take the strain off my arms. It seems like the bike shape is all wrong where I want to be able to grab it with my knees. I'm hoping I'll find other bikes better shaped in that regard. Will miss the sweet 200 when it's on the pipe though, love the way it runs.

This was ridiculously helpful :) Steg-pegs sound/look interesting. I have been mentally trying to design something like this. I used to like to put a foot back on the pillion peg when doing stand-up wheelies - this might be a similar fix. Will research steg-pegs :)

awesome video.. I must say though, im getting quite confused, as im new to motocross, and really struggling to pull a half decent lap time :( Im confused because, some tips in this video, contradict what other video's have said. I watched a motocross body position video a while back, which said to not crouch lower during hard acceleration, But to lean more over the handlebars, Which basically makes the bike push you forward, Not pull you forwards. As pushing you forwards is obviously easier on your leg muscles, and helps with fatigue and arm pump too as your not being pulled back on the bike...

Many pro enduro riders says that you should have straight leges and bend over the bar when you do this you get your elbows up and have better control over your bike. when nyou have your arms straight and sloppy light spaghetti the front wheel eil, start shaiking. the straight legs also makes it easier to get the bike up om the rear wheel.

+CROSS TRAINING ENDURO SKILLS Maybe this just applies to regular/ more high speed enduro. the riders im talking about is Joakim Ljunggren, Anders Eriksson ( 8 time world champ) Johnny Aubert and Oriol Mena. these guys ride regular enduro mostly but Joakim almost got third (ended up fouth) in red bull megawatt and will also compete in ezberg this year. But when you look at trial riders they stand like you said and many of the extreme riders have a trials backround.

I'm still not entirely convinced on the whole standing thing. I'm a predominantly sit down rider and there's not many people who can manage to get away from me. I know I know, the top enduro guys stand etc etc but at the same time I am much faster than many 'always standing' riders. And if you look at many of the top guys with a motocross background, they too will sit down a lot
@Wide000
@Wide000 8 жыл бұрын
+Aidan Gillett Just look at AMA motocross or motocross gp. You will see where and how to stand or sit. Generally, sitting while cornering and early acceleration out of corners (wich include the occasional seat bouncing), and standing (attack position, not vertical) for all the rest. There is no mystery or debatable opinions here. It is just how it's done and must be done. For enduro, the same basic rules applies, except that you must stand even more due to the chaotic terrain and lower speeds. Standing (not verticaly but exactly as shown in the video) and grip the bike with your legs are the two main points to work to improve your riding. If you are doing well sitting, you will find yourself being even much better in no time applying these rules. The laws of physics are the same for everyone, not a matter of opinions. :)
