How To Break Through Guitar Speed Plateaus

This video shows you a step-by-step way to break through guitar speed plateaus. This works great when you've been stuck in a rut with your speed and using a metronome the usual way (starting slow and gradually building speed) hasn't helped.
If you follow this speed building process the way I describe, you can often leapfrog to much higher levels of guitar speed than you may have been able to achieve in the past.

This is by far the best speed building technique I've ever come across. As a former olympic lifter, I can't believe I never made the connection and thought about practicing this way. Great video!

I used to lift a lot, did the power thing for a while, also doing all the other weight exercises, running, etc.. And I increased way faster, in a very short time, compared to my guitar skills, and took to it so much easier than I am doing on guitar.. Learning how to play halfway decent lead guitar, is taking me forever.

How is directional picking done compared to economy picking? And also why is there not even ONE video that shows how to pick fast from string to string, and we know the guitar greats do not always just pick each note once and move on.. They usually pick it 2, 3, or 4 times them move to a different note..That seems to be where most of the speed happens.. I want to see some videos of how to do that fast and smoothly! There is not one single video on that!!

So is alternate picking any good or should guitarists only use directional or economy picking? This is confusing..I need to know before I waste any more time..

What was your best total at your weight class? I like to do strongman training. I’ve found that applying similar concepts to west side barbell that works the same way

Best comp total to date: 585 kg/1289 lbs @ 83 kg weight class.
