Love French girl style? BUT not French, young or super slim? Me neither, but it doesn’t stop me from recreating this style. I think it’s a super easy style to recreate with your own wardrobe staples. If you enjoy simple, timeless, effortless, classic and undone elegance, I think a French girl style is also for you. Let me show you how I put together my wardrobe basics and hopefully it’ll give you a little inspiration x x

4 vest tops (2 white, 2 black, one plain and one lace trim)
Straight leg jeans, wide leg jeans, wide leg trousers, black trousers
White cotton shirt, silk blouse, navy blouse, linen shirt, navy jersey crossover top
Summer short sleeve blouse
Blazer, boucle jacket, trench coat
Stripe Breton tops & knit
White pumps/trainers
Black kitten heels
Black loafers
Basket bag
Black handbag

Once again I love it all! The casual French style really is timeless! The cream tweed jacket is fantastic!. As for the shoes, I honestly can't remember not owning a pair of Penny Loafers from GH Bass. As one of my staples for year round, it makes me happy to see women's loafers making such a comeback. One trick I can offer as an hourglass shape myself, I sometimes don't want to wear a belt or deal with a bulky buckle, but my shape means I have to. So I got a no buckle belt from amazon. They're great and I never have to worry about constantly having to pull on my pants all day. But again, thank you SO MUCH for another fantastic video! I have been doing a major over haul of my wardrobe since your last capsule video and I am so excited with the new possibilities I now see. Not to mention all the room I now have in my closet thanks to a big clean out and donate. PS. I don't know when we hit the 100% mark of the "I Don't Care" phase of life. I'm 48 and I'm only at about 79% there, but I'll keep you posted. lol

This video gave me several different outfit ideas with what I already have in my closet, so thank you! I also like clothing in the classic, timeless style. By pushing up the sleeves, tucking in the top, adding a belt, scarf, or other accessories to accent, you can still use those classic pieces in creating a more current look.

Thanks for this video, I’m enjoying your fashion content. With regards to the wide leg trousers I think it’s probably the cut and fabrication you’ve chosen that might be the issue rather than the wide leg itself. I had the same problem and then I realised that I suited flat fronted trousers (no pleats at all around the tummy area) and medium to heavier weighted fabric rather than draped light flowy fabric. It might be worth trying to see if you like them on you better if you play around with the cut and fabrication.

In the U.S. we call the white shoes Trainers or Tennis shoes. The black with kitten heels are pumps. And the black flats are loafers.

I know what you mean about wide-leg trousers. I have a pair and "will" them to look good on me but they just don't, lolz. I think straight trousers are a better option and something flat-fronted with no pleats as they add volume to the belly and hips.
