How to Build a Diorama Base

A reasonably simple dio base in 1/76 scale, but the techniques used can be applied to any project you may be planning. Thanks for watching. p.s. Apologies for the lack of background music, in my excitement to get this up I forgot to put it in :)

Awesome job! An inspiration to get making dioramas. Is just what I needed. My built, unpainted models were stacking up waiting for diorama stories! Much appreciated.

So glad you missed your toe (by THAT much). Loved "The Sounds of Silence" song used throughout...and the safety boots. :) Having worked (mostly) in HO scale I understand the mindset of 'seeing' everything in the scale you normally work in. Currently building (for the museum) a "G" scale (1:22) display layout. Constantly surprised at the amount of materials needed and the time it takes. Really would like to know where, when and how I could acquire "custom made" decals...Where can I find them? Thank you for another inspiring diorama build...eagerly awaiting the 'population' of this one...

Frank Kopke lol, thanks Frank, so you noticed I forgot the background music 😱. The decals I will be making myself, I’ve done some experimenting to date but nothing that’s worked really well hopefully this next loot work out.

Absolutely, there are no real rules, it depends on what scene you are going for, whatever works for you is fine. 😃

Brill video brother. Hope you and your family are all ok and well ? Tell you what , that knife miss was bloody lucky !! You should put the lottery on that day , you would of won !!! Stay safe matey !! I've not been to good mate, hence the not much contact etc !! I am starting to feel a little better !! I just can't seem to get going on this Bosnia project. I've nearly finished the warrior and need to do an update on it !! I could do with having a good few days on the dio itself but my thoughts were to get the kits done then I can do the dio and accessories etc etc

Hey Steve, all well over here, starting to come out of winter which is good, so motivation levels beginning to increase :) Glad you are starting to feel better brother, keep punching mate, i need fit and firing on all cylinders so we can get this panther build going :) I would do all the kits first then sort the dio, i need to see how they work together before i can get a feel for the final set up.. Yes that's what I'm doing. I'm giving it a rest to have time to do my Lancaster. The buddy build finishes in October so 8 don't want to have to rush

Great looking video man. What are you using for a camera and video editing software?

ScaleModelAlberta main camera is a Panasonic HC-V180 simple to use and real workhorse, closeup video & pics with iPhone 6 and mist still pics with a Nikon D3300. The editing software is called Filmora, very basic but seems to do everything I need 👍👍

Haha. I’ve got a saw in my hobby garage a well. However beware the DUST when you come to painting your model!

The are super cheap HI scale from some place in China, not great quality at all but work all right for this scale

[PBG] PointBreakGalaxy I think we call that plaster board here, I’ve never actually used it but I think it should be ok, you should be able to carve into it fairly easily I imagine 👍
