Thanks for posting. I need to build something like this to move my trailer over my front lawn. I used to be able to move it myself but that was 10 years ago when I was a bit stronger.

Very well done. I too have an aliner of which i wish to get into my garage a.... backwards. So Was either tinking of a winch. but quite like your idea.

Thanks, Brian. I built mine due to back and hip surgeries but it sure comes in handy when I want to turn it around in campgrounds and of course, parking as well as connecting and disconnecting to and from my tow vehicle. It moves the Aliner easily.You may have noticed that I have two mules. The dual wheel gets better traction but is a bit harder to steer - so, when I am on dry pavement, I use the single wheel. Just thought I would mention that.

I didn’t see a hub on the part list for this one. Do I need that? More importantly: how do I remove the pulley assembly from the winch bracket? I removed the pin near the handle. But it appears to be spring loaded. I can’t seem to get the handle to come off

Hi Eric. The hub is important if you're building a dual wheel mule. The hub came from Harbor Freight. It is a 10 by 3 1/2 inch tire and hub. The cost is 5.99. Regarding removing the pulley assembly from the winch bracket - it is held by two allen-head screws. To remove the handle, I held an open-end wrench over the handle and hit the wrench with a hammer to slide off the handle. Hope this helps. John

Hi John. I would like to build one also. Just curious what size Gear motor you used, and where you purchased from. My trailer is 2000lb. and wondering what torque size would be required .

Hi Brian. I bought mine at Harbor Freight and I paid about $50 or $60.

Why not used a split sprocket on the winch?
@JohnnyPapcie5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeffrey. Not sure I understand. Why a split sprocket ?

Nice job thanks... Don't think this is big enough for my 27 foot trailer.
@JohnnyPapcie8 жыл бұрын
You're probably right. It would be a shame to put a lot of work building it and have it not strong enough.
