It really excites me how much determined justin is to teach he never skips uploading video I finished the beginner course around 2-3 weeks ago and can't wait to start the intermediate course. As of now I'm learning some fingerstyle songs and other things. Thanks for keeping the course free for people like me who can't afford to buy guitar courses you're the best Justin.

This helped me so much. it is so much easier to memorize and apply the one pattern and unlock all the other patterns from it. It was a bit tricky at first, but in a couple hours it wasn’t hard to move around the whole fretboard. i find it much easier to also go in and out of patterns along other string. Great lesson

Hey Justin - for those of us who are just now learning how to play the ukulele, could we requested a guided practice video on the chords most popular and well loved - that would be amazing!! Start out with a simple strum pattern for each chord and transition to the next chord (I think I would do the circle of fifths so it's at least musical sounding and pleasing to the ear to play). While we could easily practice this way on our own here at home, (Classically trained pianist here so I know how to practice on my own but I will tell you...) playing your videos and trying to play along is so much more fun for me these days. It's not only nice to hear the little reminders, but it's super fun to just play along with someone else and try to keep up rather than playing all by myself (total flashbacks of having to sit at the piano for hours and practice monotonous Hanon Virtuoso Pianist exercises out of my beloved yellow Schirmer book). LOL! Admittedly, I really did actually enjoy playing through that book but it just about killed me before I conquered it. Don't tell my piano teacher I ever said that... Also... think about it, if you put together a video like that, it is likely to get played numerous times over by thousands who are trying to practice and learn all their chords just like I am. That's an awful lot of extra passive income from one video alone... ;)

Im not knocking you justi, but ive been playing for three years now and the biggest light bulb moment for me was when I went through guitar grid mastery from Johnathon boyd. He teaches to think of the scales as numbers and feelings. Also the major scale has seven notes and seven patterns not five unless you’re using caged which you failed to mention. All the modes can be played buy using the same umbers system, just depends on which pattern of the three notes per string major scale you start with, ie natural minor is pattern six or starting from the six interval of the major scale. The most important thing I learned though was remembering that there ate seven notes in music within any key and that is all! If you play the major scale 3,4 and 1,7 are always a half step and the rest are whole steps. If you know what number your on on any particular string then you can move freely all over the place without needing to know every shape. I wish more people taught this. At the end of the day pianists for instance don’t need shapes or patterns to play music do they!

Are these considered pentatonic scales or are you basically just going through the major scale patterns in full across the neck and different octaves? And are the patterns the major scale but you're starting the scale on different intervals?

Why do you sound like you're talking over the phone?

It is a waste of valuable time not calling out the NOTES under your fingers as you execute the move!! One does not travel down a thoroughfare and not be able to READ the street names... your guitar is out of tune!! never play with distortion !!
