This is part 1 of a series on building a p pumped 6.7L 12 valve, this first video covers about 90% of the work needed to make the engine all work, while the following video will cover final assembly and some detail work (fuel system, turbo, porting, valve train)
This build has spanned over a while so the clips arent constructed in the most streamline fashion, in addition to it being my first attempt at such a engine, however all the methods shown are correct and accurate.
If you're not already following on Instagram, check me out @HHK_Performance!
I also carry various diesel related items (new and used) on my website www.hhkperformance.com

My research on a 12v 6.7l street/strip build said to run the stepped lip stock dodge piston. Turbulence of re-entrant/closed bowl makes it cleaner running on the street. Thanks for the video. I need to get my block to the machine shop.

So far the engine has been running great, Im curious to see in the future how the burn looks with the stock style bowls, I -think- when i measured the bowl position vs the 12v piston it was still shooting in the 6.7L bowl

Badass! When I first picked up this 6.7L that was one of the directions I was considering for it. Maybe the next one I build will be a VP44 6.7L with something dumb for compression like 25:1!

As I recall the really wide bowl in say an 05, pistons would tend to have issues seizing when making big power & why they went back to the narrower design bowls? Do you have a dyno to test your builds, know Rob planned on getting one but hasn't got there yet as far as we know. Very interesting build! The larger bore I would think would require more fuel than the sb CR, wouldn't it be even more efficient to run a sb vs bb?

I watch CutterUpRob videos also . I now subscribed to your channel..i appreciate the information. I sometimes like to use a bolt thats exactly the right sizei in a hole . I drill a hole through the bolt in my lathe on center , then i can drill a hole in a place that i want it centered.. i might at some point have a p pump 6.7 as long as its capable of given good economy..thanks i believe Robs used GM case sealer on a lot of the areas to seal up

I been looking around for a good mag base drill ..I have a bridge port and a couple more drill press but a mag base is handy on projects . Like drilling a frame or whatever whatever. However if someone comes along and trips on the cord the mag base will fall and real possibility of getting damaged . We used those mag base drills a lot at the power plant

This is a neat build i like something different thats what im into. I used to love the idea of the ppumped 24v till everyone and their brother did it. Im really curious how this one will sound. Also i wonder what it would be like if it was done with the cp3 pump instead of the ppump. Id love to just do all different setups id like to do this build with the 6.7 12v with the ppump like he is doing and id like to do it as a 6.7 12v with a cp3 and id like to go back and do a 5.9 12v with a cp3 and do a old rotory pump for the hell of it on a 5.9 24v and a 6.7 24v just for the hell of it just build all these different setups

HAH Sounds like you've got the mad scientist bug as well! I sorta built this engine for the same reason: WHY NOT! See what happens haha I run through build combinations in my head daily, I love building engines. For the 12v head and the CP3, the main obstacle with that is finding and fitting an injector that would work. I -believe- Wagler makes a billet aluminum common rail 12 valve head that I have a picture of saved somewhere. Theres also another youtuber who found and hot rodded a factory cummins common rail 12 valve.

Have you ever worked on a 6.7 FPT Iveco engine? I see them in farm tractors but I think they are used in a fair amount of industrial stuff. The heads on the Iveco look exactly like a 12 valve cummins head, I've used cummins gaskets on the Iveco and they match perfectly. The only difference is the Iveco has steam ports and uses a mls headgasket. I can't remeber the injector placement, if they are offset or not. I'm going to check that out next time i have a head off one one.
@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge
@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge Жыл бұрын
If I remember right the Iveco Cummins is a rear gear engine, has the same bore as a 5.9, but the stroke is something ridiculously big. The head and many things interchange, but the block and bottom end is quite a bit different

for mine I just cut the front 4 bolt holes off of the front of the pan and welded a flat piece of steel to the pan and drilled the bolt holes. I tried 12v rods but with the stage 5 colt cam the rods were too close for comfort to the lobes. went with waglers. your budget turned out to be way cheaper than mine. after you get so deep into it you almost can't stop. make sure to post a running video.

👍👍has anyone out there ever tried running an Iveco NEF67 crankshaft in a b series? It's 5.2" stroke I believe,that would fit ...not sure on connecting rod length or anything... perhaps that would be foolish ... there's a " mile high" striker crank someone designed that was like 5.4"?... based off a B4.5 Cummins of the same stroke.. that engine was 12 or 24 valve head with 4.02 bore..not sure on connecting rod length.ill to look in the manual..but anyway 👍👍👊

I've seen a 12 valve with 14,000+ hours without any engine work. My buddy has a 5.9 common rail with 600,000 miles on it with no engine work done to it. They were both stock engines. I think the 6.7 gets a lot of hate from people that think they can make 600hp without head studs or people that don't watch egts and burn them up.

I seen a 12 valve in a generator role on a ship with 59000 hours and it died because someone on the crew overheated it (something to do with not running water or some sort of negligence) People can say good and bad things about all engines when you really start to scrutinize Cummins Vs CAT vs Volvo vs something else and it comes down to what someone prefers Something I like about the Cummins in non automotive applications (equipment), is that I can go to local NAPA or on rockauto and find most of anything needed to fix it
