Really like your videos (just finished a binge watching session). I to live in PNW specifically just south of Tacoma in a town called Steilacoom. I bought an older home last year and slowly been making improvements using your videos and other videos as a guide. Thanks for taking the time to edit the videos so myself and other people in the KZfaq universe can learn new tricks and tackle home projects on our own. You have your newset subscriber.

I am so happy that I found your channel! These videos are fantastic! Quick questions on this project: I want to build a bar for my new billiard shed and I don't need it to be a moveable. Can I just omit the wheels and the handle? If I were to do that, which materials could I cut from the material list for the handle? (I might throw the wheels on it just so it is easier to get out to the billiard shed in the first place.) As for suggestions on what I'd love to see you tackle next: Ripping down paneling, then taping, mudding, and finishing drywall.
@BYOTools
@BYOTools 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes, removing the wheels and handles would be just fine in this application. The handle is just 2 flanges, 4 elbows, 1 12" pipe, 2 close pipes. Also, thanks for the suggestions.

Another great vid thanx! 😊 Hi I'm thinking to make a bar table attached to the wall,, any ideas? Thinking about rustic/beech style look,,
@BYOTools
@BYOTools 7 жыл бұрын
I would say us a piece of L metal to support the back bottom side of the table top. Then you could use black iron piping that i used in the video and secure it to the table top and the wall. Just make sure you hit studs. Thanks for watching. Hope this helps.

Hey man. Here in the UK it's pretty hard to find the iron style piping and fixings. I'm thinking of doing something similar with copper piping. We can't seem to get floor flanges here, any advice on how to design it with this in mind? Thanks!
@BYOTools
@BYOTools 7 жыл бұрын
Interesting. Do you have any type of threaded pipe readily available in the UK? If you plan on using copper piping where you planing on soldering the whole thing together?

any ideas to refinished wood floors?
@BYOTools
@BYOTools 7 жыл бұрын
what would you like to know. I worked for a wood floor company for years haha. I say let the professional handle it. Its a labor intensive job that can easily be screwed up if you don't do it correctly. Just make sure you get multiple bids if you do have someone else take care of it. And I prefer a Swedish finish, not water-based. Its more durable.

Love the design and video, I was looking to make this in smaller dimensions (12" wide x 36" long) with 1/2" piping. I was wondering what the relationship between the wood length and pipe length should be, i.e. how much shorter should the pipe be than the wood to fit comfortably without the flanges being too central? Keep up the solid work!

I’m not sure if you mentioned it in the video or not but what are the dimensions of the boards for the finished product? And do you have to wait 24 after each coat of the varnish?
@BYOTools
@BYOTools 4 жыл бұрын
Finished product was approximately 18" wide by 48" long. No you don't have to wait that long. I applied a 2nd coat about 30 min after the first coat. Thanks for watching Spenser.

BYOT working on a bar cart myself. Slightly different approach. Using 1x12 oak boards (pricey) and wrapping each shelf with 1 1/2 rips to give them a little ledge to prevent anything from falling.

Not sure if it's just the video or lighting, but it looks like your centermatch lumber was pressure treated. I would be hesitant to use it in a food contact (or booze contact) application. You need to be super careful about where reclaimed lumber originated.
@BYOTools
@BYOTools 7 жыл бұрын
Good point Tom. I asked the question when I purchased the lumber and they assured me that I didn't have to worry about that. However, it didn't stop me from using a high quality ventilated mask when I was sanding so I didn't breath in anything I shouldn't be. Thanks for watching and the very important point of not doing something like this with PT lumber.
