MATERIALS USED BELOW.
Thanks so much for tuning in! don't give up on your project even if it is frustrating! this solar shower DIY was tough. but now that i have a rooftop shower, i'm so so happy. Not only does it make it easy to clean off, but having rooftop water means that you can easily do your dishes, and have pressurized water to take off mud on your truck/tires
Materials used
10' of 4" PVC schedule 40 pipe
one t section of pvc
one step down with screw cap fitting pvc
two screw caps
one end cap for pvc 4"
PVC primer and cement
one 3/4" drillbit
teflon tape
1/2" nozzle
aluminum tire valve
cam buckle saftey straps

As a plumber I agree, it's very hard to watch, and he is telling others how not to do things. His fishing videos are fun to watch, but Mav should have consulted a plumber.

I was told years ago that "anyone that attempts to do anything will succeed!" You are a great example of this, you took it on knowing that you weren't experienced at this and in the end you succeeded, Kudos young man.

Very ingenious, good job! You may want to schedule your showers for the evening before bed while the water is still warm rather than the AM. Another option in your travels is to look for State/National Parks and even campgrounds that often offer public showers for $2 or $3, often coin operated.Safe travels and cheers!

I know this is an older post but....It's good to be humble and you stuck with it...learning life's lessons...next time get help and hang with the people that do the things you want to do...It saves a lot of time and time is moving by faster than you think but time is what you need to do the things you love to do....Hope everything is good with you.

Remember when you're using Teflon tape you always want the tape to go with the way you're screwing in the cap or else it will just bunch up. Love you're vids keep it up.
@_Common_Logic_
@_Common_Logic_ 4 жыл бұрын
You will actually be wrapping the tape in the OPPOSITE direction of what you are turning... This leaves the little tail at the end to be "Pulled" through the threads and not "Pushed" which may cause it to bunch up and unwind. He'll look back at this one day and slap himself on the forehead... Hopefully, with four full fingers and a thumb. ;-)

When you're gluing pvc I was always thought to give your pieces a quarter turn when you put them on to help the glue seat better
@bowmaster24
@bowmaster24 4 жыл бұрын
NotFlafee correct, give it a twist and apply pressure for 5-10 seconds to give the glue time to activate. The pvc will try to separate without the addition pressure.

Rather than use PVC, which is not great under pressure, and has to be painted to become black, use ABS pipe. It is already black, and it can withstand 200 or so PSI. It is very impact resistant, so great outdoors. It is glued up with a 1-part solvent. You can find it next to PVC anywhere you get your plumbing stuff.

In sewing and tailoring, we create a “mock up” version out of waste or cheap fabric called muslin. It’s only purpose is to work out how all of the pattern pieces are going to fit together when you are not familiar with the project. Nice mock up and really nice to go shower.
