My son works in the field a lot and gets his waders and equipment dirty and muddy. So we came up with this air pressured water tank. It hold around 8 gal. of water. We built the tank out of PVC piping and welded our own brackets to mount inside of his Toyota Tacoma. Since the Tacoma has an electric outlet in the bed it was easy to hook up an air pump . With 25 to 30 psi in the tank the water comes out like a garden hose.Over all it ended up working really well. This would really come in handy when camping or doing other outdoor activities. Everything was bought at a big box store , auto supply and Amazon.

I had this same idea last year for my wife’s greenhouse so it could be on a timer while we are on vacation. You are the only person I’ve seen build this. Thought I had an original idea. I’m adding a battery operated timer for a misting system. Only needs 5 minutes a day. Thanks for the video.

You can get a 12v wash down pump for like rv , boat etc . They come equipped with a pressure switch to stop water flow when not in use . Fix a hose on one side to drop in your jug and the shower on the other. Hook it to 12v and your good to go

The Muz Shop - Nice build. Love the custom welded hangers. Hey it's your day job, so of course, your beads are perfect . The quick release system is pure gold. I have a few humble suggestions for the next build. Your paint job which will start to show scratches double quick. Try covering the whole works with black bed liner or undercoat to give it a extra thick skin. You might consider switching the hangers the passenger side. When parked in the street it's a lot easier to fill up with a hose at the curb rather than run it all the way across (undo, around) the truck and perhaps stand in traffic. Once again nice build and thanks for sharing.
@TheMuzShop
@TheMuzShop 5 жыл бұрын
ScorpionRegent thanks good tip on the paint. As for the side we mounted it , was because the compartment and outlet for the air compressor was on that side so we didn’t have to run chords across the bed. Worked out great. Thanks again 👍👍

This is a great video. I have one of those stupid ass bed liners that’s plastic so I’m not quite sure where/how to mount it……. Possibly large washers backside in through the plastic itself ( access holes for d rings forward and aft). Wander if it will hold well enough…….. pretty durable material. Anyone else have this issue? How’d you deal with it? I’m all ears to any potential solutions….. thanks guys…..

Safer to add a stand pipe along pipe to compress air. If completely full off water you'll have hydraulic issues. Air compressors do not compress water. Unless you make a air pocket by lowering level a little.

Word to the wise...there is 6" PVC that is meant for pressurized applications (typically up to 180 PSI) and there is PVC that is only meant for gravity flow. Buy the former for this kind of project. My only concern is hanging the 50-60 pounds of weight (when full) on the side of a vehicle roof rack...I'd be using a stainless clevis hanger mounted sideways.

It actually pumps water for a surprising long time, ( never timed it) but with this set up you could quickly pump more air in the tank when the water pressure weakens and until you run out of water. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. If you need to know a more accurate time, I could ask my son. Let me know... Muz

Could just do a sealed system and let the city water pressurize the tank. Normally around 80psi and the air that was in the tank will compress and become propellant

The fatal flaw in your design is the Use of epoxy. In a water environment it is not going to hold up to vibration, swelling & contraction (barometric pressure) & will eventually crack & fail. You should’ve used some type of threaded O-ring pinch seal arrangement. As an engineer, you need to think long term...
