Thanks it worked pretty well in the winter for the heater and for the summer time the hose for the a/c exhaust needed installation around it to keep the heat down in the truck to cool to truck down but it did work out well

I had to cover my windows to help keep the cool air in the rig and also I found if I covered up the exhaust tube it helped a little I tried to use a insulated dryer vent hose to keep the heat down on the exhaust Is for the air conditioner the 1500 did help some but I had to use a couple fans to circulate the air

I made sure the the exhaust pipe for the generator was facing towards the back of the truck I had the generator set on my catwalk out-of-the-way the trailer for clearance also I have seen people do the setup with this with a toolbox of some sort with a fan and they put an extension on the exhaust pipe to get the exhaust fumes away from the truck

I always used during the day while driving my inverter for the refrigerator then at night I would swap everything for night time

Yes over time I learned the window part needed insulation for the heat from the hose on the A/C

On average most unit pull about 500 w

In the wintertime I use a small space heater to heat the truck it worked very efficiently and what I had was a ceramic style heater it was a smaller one but it does the job

I bought this unit at Walmart The other things that I needed was a insulated hose for the air conditioner to keep the heat down from the exhaust on the air conditioner also I had to cut the piece for the window a little bit to make it fit in the window I used a little bit of Foam insulation for the window pieces And to run the unit I used a 3000 what generator or gas inverter from Amazon

@@OVERALL_PAUL great how about the model for the AC i will go to Walmart to get one and I did research on the generator found the Eco Delta Pro power station. Hopefully it work fine once I get those things installed.

Generator was an Ford My catwalk i used u bolts to mount the Generator to to catwalk I used a vinyl cover to protect it in the winter My gas cans was in a tool box on the side of the catwalk on the frame I used a small ceramic heater to heat the sleeper and the ac was an walmart special portable ac unit go with the bigger unit also I have more videos on my channel on all of theses things

It's doing just fine but I had to replace the pull start cord and an carburetor

It's a 6,000 Btu but I would go with a better one than this one if you don't have good insulation

You wouldn't be able to drive with this in your window it's only used when I'm sitting still parked in the parking lot to keep from idling the truck and to keep my fuel costs down so that being said I wouldn't be in trouble with the DOT being parked with this in my window

Step 1buy a generator Step 2 buy a space heater Step 3 buy an high output portable airconditioner Step 4 have plenty of gas Step 5 make sure you have an heavy duty extension cord to plug in the generator to the heat or a/c Step 6 fire that baby up and turn on the air conditioner if needed or the heat Strep 7 bask in the comfort of a heated or cooled truck But if you want to know more you will find other videos on this set up even the generator I use I hope this was helpful have a Blessed day

I did save money on this... The term APU means auxiliary power unit This power unit was generated by a generator I also used a cheap air conditioner with a smallI Ceramic heater the generator was $400 and the Portable A/C unit was $300 plus the ceramic heater $35 .. In all this was under $1,000. It's an quick fix for someone to save money 💰 on fuel and at the time Diesel was $2.75 a gallon. gas was at an all time low $1.89 not only did I saved $ but it kept the wear and tear off of the old truck I kept maintenance costs down over time I did save for an APU but I ended up selling the truck just to be home with family and this set up works well for my motorcoach now I hope you have an blessed day thank you for taking the time to watch this video
