Renaming is switching the building to 'disabled' because you're hitting the [ENTER] key after you type the name. The enter key is the default hotkey for 'disable building' toggle. If you hit the enter key on your number pad (or click the mouse elsewhere), it won't do that. BTW: super helpful videos w/o all the usual ego you get from most content providers. Likes.

hi Magnet, Thanks to your walkthrough, I regularly make it to the mid-game without any problems. Now I'm trying to improve my midgame so that I can regularly make it to the endgame and survive. By the way: I play in survival mode I have to say that your walkthrough is very well structured. I often failed in the mid-game because I didn't take certain topics mentioned too seriously :D (like shipping etc. or early cooling system) Great videos, keep it up

Yep, I was learning to beat the original game with original Magnet's guides. I guess that todays Magnet would be ashamed of old Magnet's base... but thats what the game is about.

One of the rocket interior design choices I've made for my games is to build a micro Hydra/soggy SPOM to generate oxygen from a liquid reservoir or a rocket liquid tank. The micro Hydra/soggy SPOM consists of just one electrolyzer and two gas pumps, one for the oxygen in the spacefarer module, one for the hydrogen when I reach my destination asteroid to use as fuel for a hydrogen generator or any other use for hydrogen. The micro Hydra/soggy SPOM takes up almost a quarter of the spacefarer module but a full liquid reservoir with 5T of water can generate oxygen for a very long time while your Dupes are building out a new base. Plus, you can just hook up the external liquid port on the spacefarer module to bring in more water. I also built my rocket's bathroom on the upper section of the module so that the background radiation from space can sterilize all the food poisoning germs away.

I think that the rocket naming is a huuuge missed opportunity for going goofball here. Try out some of those: Data Diver Parcel Pod Cartographic Cruiser ( personal favourite, and I always use it ) Relic Reckoner Nuclear Needle Bonus points are for going even goofier here.

Is it possible to overpressurize the rocket interior to give it a little extra oxygen for traveling? And yeah... i guess i'll never start a rocket in ONI😅

It is, but it really makes your duplicants upset. I wouldn't recommend it.

How do you ship liquids?

I don't ship many liquids these days, but I suppose if you needed to, you could fill a spacefarer module with tanks and the liquid you want to transport if it's cool enough for your duplicants to live along side it for a little while. You can also put a liquid cargo tank on your rocket, but it only holds 9000kg so it's not the greatest option. What are you wanting to ship?

@Magnet_MD I'm trying to transport some crude oil. I'm playing on the radioactive ocean asteroid with teleporters disabled. I got to the oil planet (dupe almost suffocated because I had no algae, but I did bring just enough full oxygen masks), and I just need to get enough oil for a bunch of plastic. I guess I could squeeze a liquid tank in the small capsule. Thanks for the idea. PS: It just occurred to me that I can take a drecko egg instead and get both plastic and atmosuits all in one. Also, I can't even pump the oil because I don't have gold amalgam and the oil is 75 °C

Ah, interesting. Do you have any crashed satellites on that asteroid? You could skip to interplanetary launchers if you have the power to push it. What's the oil for? Just petroleum for rockets? Cause you could just centralize your oil-based production on that asteroid and ship the byproducts (plastic) instead. You also don't necessarily need petroleum for rockets, you can use other methods and still get everywhere you need (steam and hydrogen specifically).
