2 tips from a construction worker... use a laser level to get your mouldings in line, and a builders square to square the framing.

if you do another - to make a large frame - measure diagonal, corner to corner - when those are exactly the same - the frame is 90 degrees on the corners

Cool set, and it was interesting to see how you built it. I believe you're possibly one of the best lighting people I've seen, in my many years of interest in photography (starting around 1978). I'm planning another photoshoot, and I was thinking about just how important the lighting is, to a great shoot. My main style is chiaroscuro, so I need to be able to control the light. Really digging your light meter. I'm still using a Sekonic Flashmate L-308S. It was cheap, probably 15 years old, but it does the job, and it's still kicking. I don't shoot without it.

Congratulations on the new studio. Your new set looks great. The only thing I would consider doing differently, is perhaps to add some practical lighting, maybe in the form of a wall sconce or a free standing floor lamp. Love the flooring tip too. Thanks for the video.

17:00 - It's likely that a paint primer first would have helped. And also I would have stuck with the Behr paint. Sometimes you pay an expensive price for going cheap on something.
