This plane is a 1970’s design. The technology has come a long way since then. A modern version could be built in 2024, in a matter of weeks, with 99% less sanding and finishing.

@@2Phast4Rocket Currently in production? None that I know of. However if a few people groupfunded, then yes, it can be done. A Cozy Mk V for the 21st century

If you flew out of PBIA, to the Bahamas I think you flew over my house a couple of times a few years ago. That is one cool plane. You definitely can hear it for miles.

Great video Russ! How did you learn to build this? Do you have a degree in engineering? I would love to build my own plane one day but I have no idea where to even begin (I work in tech with a PPL but zero experience in engineering)

Very nice Cozy Russ. I am an A&P in the Huntsville area and have always wanted to build a Rutan canard. Quick question for you, what does the real W/B look like for this? What is the maximum front seat weight specifically.

I see you put in the extra lower windows on the sides. I've seen another with those too, and another with lower windows for the back seat passengers, but not most Cozies. Are they in the plans or did you just do it?
