I honestly like that ANet has spoken out about services being part of the game, both in GW2 and GW1. Getting whatever required amount of MC in itself is no walk in the park for most players. Sure they might not have fought the boss, but they thought outside the box enough to get to the same endpoint.

I like you breaking the stigma. I can concur with your point about being a part of the endgame and not having time for it. I was in a raid static, we had achieved every raid title and we took end game content pretty seriously. There is a distinct line between most end game CM content and then strike CMs and their achievements like Voidwalker and Legendary Cerus. The hardest raid titles to me -- Everlasting Ally of Ahdashim, Demon's Demise, even Voice in the Void were all remarkably easier than even some of the easier strikes like OLC CM. I was part of this end game guild during a year where I had a lot of free time and we ran like 6 to 8 hours a week of practice and we still couldn't get Voidwalker down. There are legitimate dedicated statics that prog things like HTCM for MONTHS before getting their first kill. It is simply not worth it for the overwhelming majority of players to try and get this content unless being able to say you legitimately earned that title and/or the joy of progressing the fight is truly worth that much to you. I do wanna say that, while I do respect you for sharing this information, I wanna caution against people buying raids or other content. In reality, when you look at the total cost of Silhouette's Everbloom purchase, he's probably out close to 15-1700 mystic coins overall (that might even be an understatement). That's enough to fund legendary armor, that's enough to fund like 3 legendary weapons in raw liquid gold. If you truly want the infusion, go for it, but otherwise the only real raw benefit you get from this service is being able to have the title, which ultimately only helps you in joining LFG for end game content that would otherwise require a large amount of skill like HTCM, OLC CM, Dhuum CM, which if you're buying the clear in the first place you're probably not running

Exactly my point of view, I prefer playing 30h doing meta, achievements, slowly grinding gold having fun and then buying CMs than learning every mechanics perfectly and practicing for hours and hours (not even guaranty the kill). I did most of CMs myself, except HT and OLC, they required too much time for me .

Thank God for this video. Like many others I am sure, any transaction where there is no table for me to hold my card over while completing, is completely unreasonable. This is the equivalent of having to call the attendant over in a store. This immediately makes me fly off the handle, I even played the game and earned the titles because of my frustration.

I honestly think the selling of titles and achievements is perfectly fine, especially in a game like GW2. I dont have enough time to hardcore sweat, but i enjoy playing the game which accrues currency over time, and at some point it becomes possible to buy one of these titles. I havent done so myself, and probably wont since i dont value them that highly, but i can also see how buying runs makes sense in a game where regardless of how proficient of a player you are if you dont have KPs, you cant get into decent pugs, and finding a static that fits you isnt a short process.

It’s a bit different from hiring a plumber. when you buy something that is purely prestige, like a title, you aren’t paying someone to fix your pipes. You are paying money to get a trophy that says “This is proof that I am a very skilled plumber”

Nice video, I also just bought the voidwalker title - just because i couldnt be bothered to grind one month for a title and an infusion. In my opininon the stigmata of buying raids/strikes and stuff comes from using the bought title to belittle people with less experience - In the way "I have x title so i am right" To me the raid selling LFG posts are just kinda annoying since they don't really reflect the amount of groups available for raiding and every time you go and look you have to filter through all the advertisements again and again -> Could easily be remedied by anet adding a "Raids (selling)" tab

i could buy it like you did or like just not buy and not do it at all and got tons of gold for whatever. That said I don't play enough for the gold to pile up, all i do for gold is doing weekly vault on my alts a few times per quarter.

Ah, I Miss the old runs on the original GW. I used to do the Drok's run all the time. It even helped pay towards my first set of Obby armor. I think the stigma of buying any service in game is a bit silly. If I cared enough for the titles I'd probably buy raid/strike clears myself since I don't care much for that kinda content.

You're right that the biggest obstacle to being a top PvE player is how much time you're willing to commit to it, and the willingness to actually improve and learn from your mistakes. But that's not true for good PvP players, there's a genuine skill gap that the vast majority of players won't be able to cross. Admittedly, most of the top ranked players each season just duo queue during dead hours, but winning a tournament isn't something that can be achieved by just grinding the game.

Denial is the first stage of the 7 stages of a bad player. I wish you luck in this long but rewarding journey.

I personally don't see the value in spending thousands of gold to buy a title just to have it. What does it get me besides bragging rights? If I ever get asked to participate in said content people would instantly see I bought it. I'm fine with not having a title I didn't earn. Like you said the major obstacle is not even skill it's the time commitment. Maybe someday I'll put in the time and maybe not. I'm fine either way. Personally I think anyone who pays for titles for HTCM, Dhuum CM, and Strike CMs should be embarrassed but it's your gold I guess, you can do what you want with it. All that aside, I simply don't see the value is buying NM clears and I think the people who do sell them are a bit scummy. People view raids/strikes as more intimidating than they really are and raid sellers absolutely feed into that. I mean look at some of those prices. 100g for IBS strikes are you kidding me??? 8000g for complete ad infin collection? 7400g for raid armor. Completely ridiculous. You're just taking advantage of people at this point. When raid sellers fill the lfg it feeds the assumption that raids are so hard people need to pay to complete them. I absolutely hate seeing sellers in the lfg. I'm in a raid training community and we routinely bring in players who have never done end game content and help them get raid armor within a few weeks of play. Most go on to become experienced regular raiders. There is absolutely no reason that anyone should be paying to complete raid armor it is completely doable by anyone. All it takes is listening ears and a willingness to learn. Maybe there are some players who aren't willing to put in even that amount of work but I feel that if you purposely seek out a GW2 raid training discord then you are already willing enough. People self select themselves by the mere fact that they put in the effort to find us and we never have any problems getting people Envoy Armor and Coal and that's all people need. CMs are just that: Challenge Modes. A good challenge for experienced players but you won't miss anything by not clearing them.

Somewhat unrelated to this video but i am currently trapped in low kp hell for fractals. I have around 5.6k ufe + all titles and am able to not only survive, but do top 1,2 dps on all but 97 (for some reason). The issue is its extremely hard for me to find groups that will take me in as most groups want to have < 10-15k ufe and wont budge. 5k ufe groups are super rare. I honestly dont really know what i am supposed to do...

I must say i dont judge ppl who sell or buy titles, but i dont get why would you buy a title. I mean its like one fashion guy explained to me why fake brand cloth is useless: if a person into fashion he will see you got a fake on a 1st glace, and if a person dont care about fashion he will not get that you wear a brand cloth in a first place... Same with title you are the only one who cares if you got it. If you achivied something by dedicating time to do it its a warming memory, but if you buy it its merely an expansive toy... I saw 2 guys with leggy Cerus titles recently: 1st was making a benchmark dps and 2nd was an average player. May be the 2nd played other class or may be he bought a title, but they were equaly welcome in our ibs 5 PUG, but i belive 2nd guy would get into trouble if he underperfomed after using his title as a kp req...

KA in NA sells htcm and cerus

HTCM was rewarding to grind until a couple people stopped putting in effort. Still showed up but wiped us at the same spot over and over, and refused to study or practice outside of grinding HTCM. I'm not doing that again. I'll grind tough fights myself, and maybe with a friend or two, and that's it.

Idk after a while (for some people years, for some giga grinders its maybe only months) of playing gold just becomes a useless currency like any other in your wallet in terms of getting more powerful. It effectively ends up being burnt on vanity items or QoL items (which is a whole nother can of worms) or just hoarded. So if people wanna spend it on a few letters below their character name I literally don't care. To me there is no prestige in any title apart from maybe PvP ones (like pvp god) as that means you are literally better than everyone else, or have been at some point. Things like HTCM or LCM Cerus title aren't anything special. I personally haven't gone for them because I wasn't there on launch and in my eyes any good team will have cleared by now so if I were to find a team now it'd be full of players that simply haven't been able to clear yet because they're probably not good enough. And I don't wanna put up with that. This might sound toxic but I simply value my time and I have a limited amount of nerves to spare with my current life situation. That being said I equip titles not for what you needed to do for them, but for the memories I connect with acquiring them. Most of the time I will display my Community Hero as it was an absolute blast practicing and raiding with friends, getting that tournament win for us. So I would personally never buy a title because there wouldn't be any... emotional value? tied to it. If I acquired it and had fun doing it so much that I wanna display it on my character, then yeah. Other than that I could not care less.

Not something I would do personally but don't care if anyone else wants to do it, I just wish they weren't advertising it in the strike lfgs and cluttering it up that's about my only issue with it.
