Holidays are just around the corner and if you’re planning to make desserts like leche flan and egg pudding
for your love ones,This easy to prepare caramel makes your flan toppings perfect and delicious with
rich flavor of caramel..🍮🍮🍮Simple and easy!
Ingredients
Wet Method
1 cup sugar
1/4 - 1/2 cup water
Tips: *Cook over medium heat, do not stir to avoid crystallizing
the sugar
*Use wet pastry brush to brush down some sugar stuck on the sides
of the pan back into the mixture
*Once the color of sugar changed to light brown, set your stove to
low heat to slow down the process until it reaches your desired color,
careful not to burn the caramel
*Transfer immediately to a prepared mold to stop the cooking
process, ( the pan is too hot that continues to cook the caramel )
*Overcooked caramel tastes bitter / burnt flavor
Dry Method #1
2-3 tbsp sugar
Tips: *Melt sugar over low heat, swirl the mold or llanera
so the sugar melt and cook evenly without stirring
* Amber to dark brown color caramel
Dry Method #2
1 cup sugar
Tips:*Pour sugar in a pan evenly, cook over medium low heat
*Once sugar starts to melt, stir in a circular motion
*Drag unmelted sugar to the melted sugar for quick and easy caramel

I’ve tried many times to create the caramel for flan and it always crystallized on me. I tried your first method and omg it finally came out to such a beautiful amber shade. Exactly like yours! It does take a while but worth it! Thank you sooooooo much!

It’s supposed to crustalize, I’m Mexican, you pop it into the oven with all the ingredients on top after and it will melt and stay melted

Ang ung method number 1 pla ang try ko nex time, I always use method 2 but I always struggle not to burn my sugar and my dish

Hi po! What if maramihang caremalized sugar po ang gagawin? Gaano kadaming water po ilalagay? Let's say 2 cups or 3 cups of sugar po? Sa wet method po ito. Salamat po!

every time i do this is crystallizes and all the water evaporates, sugar never melts

Yes po madali lang naman yan lumamig pagkalagay niyo sa lagayan or molder mga ilang minuto lang titigas agad yan..salamat po sa panonood..❤️

Hi Urassa Ya! Yes it’s okay to use brown sugar, but for me it’s not easy to tell if the sugar is already caramelized unlike when you use white sugar you can see the process when color changes to golden yellow then to amber color so I prefer to use white sugar..

Hello po ask ko lang po bakit po di lumalambot ung caramel pag na steam na kahit di po naman nacrystallize tapos minsan lumalambot pag na ssteam pero pag nilagay sa ref tumitigas ule. Ano po kaya prob?

Sa totoo lang di pa po ako naka experience ng ganyan dahil ang caramel nag melt talaga pag na steam at once nag melt na siya hindi na po siya titigas ulit base sa aking experience, baka po ang problema nasa caramel mismo..sundan niyo lang po ang video, hope you’ll get a good results..thanks for watching! ❤️

Hi Karen! kapag nilagyan ng tubig slow process po ang pag caramelize ng sugar hindi ito madaling masunog, kung magawa ito ng husto same results lang talaga sila.. dry or wet method..depende po kung saan mas madali para sa iyo,.salamat po sa panonood!

Pwede po pero para sa akin mas maganda gamitin ang white sugar dahil madali mong malaman kung nag caramelized na siya at makikita mo talaga ang process habang nag change ang kulay ng sugar at magiging caramel ito..salamat po sa panonood! ❤️

I don’t get it, whenever i make this the caramel is way too thick to pour and i need to scrape it out with a spoon any help

Hi, you’ll have to transfer immediately to molds or ramekins once the sugar caramelized.. by the way which way of making caramel are you referring to..

Just make sure to cook it in medium heat and once the color starts to change then set to low heat to slow the process until you achieved your desired color of caramel..It’s very important to transfer immediately because it will become thick and dries up quickly..hope it helps..

It will change once the water evaporates, continue to cook until the sugar is caramelized..

Hi, which one did you try? The wet method is simple and easy..use a heavy bottomed pan, combine sugar with water then heated..once the mixture comes to a boil Let it cook without stirring it, water will evaporates and the sugar begins to caramelize, watch carefully caramelization happens quickly, hope it helps.

same problem with mine, it takes practice and right process to achieve caramelized sugar. Sakin, 3 failed attempt 😯 pwede ba ma reused yung rystallized sugar ?

Sa akin hindi ko na po ginamit tinapon ko nalang, at hindi na po siya magiging caramel kapag nag crystallized na..try niyo po maglagay ng asukal at tubig sa pot..pabayaan niyo lang siyang kumulo over medium heat, tapos pag nag starts nag mag change ang kulay pwede niyong hinaan na ang apoy para siguradong hindi ma overcooked..may mga tips din sa description sana makatulong salamat po!
