How to care for the Spiny Flower mantis - Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii
Today we talk about a very impressive specimen of praying mantis both in markings and it's confidence in taking down prey, these lovely little critters and a must for the mantis keeper and everyone should own one once in their journey of keep praying mantis, humidity is best between 40-60%, temps 25oC - 30oC and if possible flying prey is best for the mantis as always. If you do use locusts please keep a eye on them incase it is ready to moult as it could harm your mantis.

I have only a few now, as I let it slow down in the winter. I have a zebra mantis, giant Asian and a Vietnamese Ghost Mantis

@@karlh4718 not the Vietnamese no, however the Phyllocrania paradoxa (Ghost mantis) is very simple. I have done a video on it 🙂

Hey there. I was wondering if you could help me out. I had an l6 spiny flower who passed the other day. Before he passed he had feces stuck and his abdomen was extremely swollen. I tried helping him but I ended up causing a little tear inbetween his segments (it wasnt terrible just a little blood inbetween segments). I couldnt help him and when I removed some of the feces it was hard and brittle. I put him under a heat lamp and sprayed his cage to see if hydration would help. He ended up passing the next day. When he died the end of his abdomen was black. I had him for around 5 months. I had started feeding him dead crickets that i stored in my fridge because they didnt require a culture and he would accept them. I got them from Petsmart, and thinking back it wasnt a great idea they're very unreliable. What do you think the cause of death was? Bacterial or fungal infection? Constipation? Im a first time owner so Im really confused and sad I was really attached to him. Thank you so much for reading.

Never feed a mantis dead crickets. Try to avoid crickets from the pet store all together

hello mate. can I get your advice about pseudocreobrotavahlbergis? i have couple of adults and they are not doing anything :) can i help then however? with humenopuss its always easy but this ones i have at 1 time. thanks a lot.
