I have been wanting a ghost mantis for 10+ years and I finally asked my twin sister to get me one for my birthday if she really wants to blow my mind…then she said she wanted to get a dragon mantis. My point is, space is very limited so TOP question…can we keep them in the same enclosure? If not, that’s understandable..where do I buy her? When I was 11-12 years old I raised a female praying mantis and found a male and bred them and when she made her nest I found the best place to put it..and when I was about 32 I lived somewhere with a balcony where a very young female flew up to me and seemed to insist on being friends. So I have experience with them but I don’t want to screw it up if I buy a ghost mantis. I’d be humiliated if I messed this up…

I have a young one, which was feeding on fruit flies , when it shed I reside small crickets, which it ate. Now it’s gone off crickets and won’t touch them. Blue and green bottles are not available here in Thailand. Any common alternatives to flies that they’ll eat? Or are they repair just fly-eaters like Idolomantis?

Hey there. I was wondering if you could help me out. I had an l6 spiny flower who passed the other day. Before he passed he had feces stuck and his abdomen was extremely swollen. I tried helping him but I ended up causing a little tear inbetween his segments (it wasnt terrible just a little blood inbetween segments). I couldnt help him and when I removed some of the feces it was hard and brittle. I put him under a heat lamp and sprayed his cage to see if hydration would help. He ended up passing the next day. When he died the end of his abdomen was black. I had him for around 5 months. I had started feeding him dead crickets that i stored in my fridge because they didnt require a culture and he would accept them. I got them from Petsmart, and thinking back it wasnt a great idea they're very unreliable. What do you think the cause of death was? Bacterial or fungal infection? Constipation? Im a first time owner so Im really confused and sad I was really attached to him. Thank you so much for reading.

Hi!!! I just had a cute little praying mantis which I tried putting back on the tree where it came from several times but it kept on running back on my arm so I decided to keep it and make a little home for it. I find it hard to look for food for it; I tried catching an ant but I do not know if it even gave it attention when I put it inside its home. Its size is just about an inch - it is still a baby. 🥺 Can you give me any tips??? Thank you!!! 🙏🏼

Hi, I've pretty much got mine set up the same. I get large locusts, but at least half of them die in the first 3 or 4 days. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I currently keep the tank on top of the lizard viv right above where the heat lamp is. Do you think they aren't warm enough? Any advise is very much appreciated. 😊

Where is the care information

They seem to love carrots, apple, and savoy cabbage. The savoy works really well because it keeps for so long and they can chew through it a lot easier than most cabbage. I tend to drop in a big leaf every few days. They love it!

Quick question, can you keep isopods and jumpers in the same enclosure? So that you have a way to keep the enclosure mostly clean of carcasses and waste? Or will they disturb the jumper while its molting or something and cause issues

Awesome funnel idea mate, il deffo be doing that, i had a hard time catching blue bottles then when i finally caught it, i would put it in a cup i would slide a piece of paper over the top so it couldnt get out then put it in the freezer for a few minutes to stun it, then i would put it into the mantis terrarium and it would come back to normal in a couple of minutes, i useto use crickets but they killed my budwing mantis so never used them since, will be using those pupae things , do u know of wax worms are ok to feed to mantis?
