The gromit for the steering shaft fell out when you hit it up with a hammer On reinstallation you never put it back. The steering wheel is going to have slop in it.

@@livingwildandfree2885 the small gear you took out from the steering wheel assembly. That small gear presses into a plastic gromit It popped out when you disconnected it. It never went back in The steering probably has a lot of slop in it.

@@anguslean4058 Oh didn't see that. but the black grommet that's just above the steering gear never popped out. It's a two-piece design one from under and one on top. It never separated and why I never mention it in the video. Reference the John Deere catalog to get a better idea than I can give.

Sorry about that, the pully I replaced is Powertrain Drive Pully GX20286. The belt is a V belt length 2258 mm UC30568. And this is a LA125 John deere lawn mower. The catalog is pretty easy to use for john deere

Boy, that's some crappy engineering. I guess JD wants everyone to take it to the shop for replacement.
