I just finished changing the filter on my 2014 Focus. This video really helped. But the air filter system in the Focus, from the point of servicing, is the worst designed I have ever dealt with!

Thanks Peter. I followed your video to change the air filter in my 2013 Focus. My air filter did not have the legs like yours did. It had to fit into a groove. I could not get the front left screw back in. (left as viewed from driver.) I just left it loose.

Hi there is a little cotton like filled up with kinda petrol smell in the aur filter compartment. What is it?

My main reason for watching this was because mine came out easily. I wondered if the place I go to removed it to inspect it and forgot to put a clamp on the air filters inlet ring. I guess the pressure of the end plastic case against the plastic air filters end cap forces the filter into position for a good seal. Otherwise it would appear the engine could draw air around the filter

I bought an STP that didn't fit, returned it and purchased a Motorcraft that also didn't fit. They both seemed to be about 1/2" too long and I really had to work to get it reseated in the lip. Save yourself the hassle and buy OEM.

I have a used 2011 focus. There is a smell of cigarette smoke at times. If I change this filter will that help get rid of the smell??

that does not look like the engine area of a 2011 Focus. Totally different filter and battery placement is also different
