Nice video but how do u drain the fuel tank?????

Thanks for posting this! You probably already know this, but the slit in the top of the PVC tube allows it to function as a spring clamp on the oil filler tube -- the PVC expands slightly and then grabs the filler tube.

I merely use a toilet roll stem and an used 500ml plastic bottle at the end of it. It's good to elevate the generator so you can tilt for draining. Thanks for making the video!

I will also stuff some tissue paper or kitchen towel under the spout so there is no mess at all draining or filling the engine oil.

I think the slit along the top of the PVC is to create a weak point. That will prevent damage to your generator by allowing the pipe to expand if you push it into place with too much force.

Thanks for your video. I have managed to get water in the fuel tank. Is it just a matter of draining the fuel from the bowl to fix it?

Stupid question but I have to ask What if I have at least 1/2 gallon of gasoline left on the generator and I want to drain the fuel out. I just tilt it completely over into an empty gasoline can with a funnel. Any problems if I tilt it over to drain the gas?
@1ROADKING3 жыл бұрын
If you have the all the oil completely drained out it probably doesn’t hurt to tip it over to drain fuel out of tank... you will still want to drain the fuel out of the carburetor though...Hope that helps

For an easier way and avoiding getting oil into the cylinder when you turn it over, which causes a LOT of smoke, watch this short video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g8enhpxnv9Kbd2g.html

Since you made this video, Amsoil now has 0-30W oil, which I use rather than 5-30W or 10-30W
@1ROADKING7 жыл бұрын
Thanks...i use it now too! love it

AFTER installing the 0-30W Amsoil, there is almost NO need for the Choke. As soon as it starts, I move the choke to OFF.

Unfortunately, my state does not sell gas without ethanol...... :( I drain all my equipment now if not used for 30 days or more
@1ROADKING7 жыл бұрын
wow!! you cant get it anywhere?
@ababner3177 жыл бұрын
SpockMccoy do they have Home Depots in your state? They sell TruFuel in the gray can for 4 stroke engines. It has no ethanol and no pre mix ratios for two stroke engines.
@Customsouthernarms6 жыл бұрын
find a local boat marina and go to it. People who own boats will not put ethanol fuel in their boats.

I recently purchased this generator and it has 16 hours run time. I have changed the oil four times using Valvoline 10w 30. Besides cost is there anything wrong with changing the oil after every use. I do not care about the environmental impact of using oil.
@BionicBadgerFromHell8 жыл бұрын
+Brad Davies Your change rate is a bit excessive, even if it probably doesn't hurt. You generally should change the oil every 25 hours or so. Also, whichever brand you choose, make sure that you're using *synthetic* oil. Since your EU2000i generator is relatively new (well, 6 months ago anyway), you should make sure that you've properly broken in your (check the guides on the net).
@TheMickeymental8 жыл бұрын
+BionicBadgerFromHell After reading about all types of engines it appears that the most wear occurs in the early stages of use. The main culprit of damage in the life of a generator is metal particles. Very small particles do the most damage. I figure to keep it lasting a life time that eliminating as much particulate as possible would prolong the life of the unit. I have read several theories on the net about proper break-in. There was one that very complex. I have heard to run conventional oil for the break-in period because synthetic is too slick and does not allow proper wear in the beginning. I have searched Honda's materials and they say nothing about break-in. Thank you for your advice and take a look at this guys procedure and let me know what you think. burningman.kowtow.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=323
@BionicBadgerFromHell8 жыл бұрын
For those particulates, and general use, you might look into one of those magnetic dip sticks you can buy on Amazon or other places. They have a magnet at the end that attracts ferrous particulates. I think you're right about the oil in the break-in being used for particulates. It's probably also to help break-in the seals. Hmm, not sure about the conventional oil being too slick for the break-in. That could be a good reason. From what I gathered, it's mostly suggested because you'll be tossing the oil after the short break-in period is complete; synthetic would be just a waste. Neither reason impacts the other, so we might as well just stick with it. After the break-in, full synthetic is suggested. That guide on the site you linked to looks pretty accurate. A lot of the info is based on BobTheOilGuy's info as well, which is a really good resource. Plus, the guy writing the guide is probably running his genny almost all the time in pretty harsh conditions at that event.

you can leave the oil in up to a year regardless of hours.I have friend whp is an oil engineer.those oil intervals are bogus.if this item had a filter you could leave it for two years.its age that does the damage not use.

I have full tank of gas I need to drain, how do I do that, this video doesn't show that.
@1ROADKING Жыл бұрын
Turn the fuel off and you shouldn’t need to drain the gas tank…just add some fuel stabilizer… use alcohol free gas and you shouldn’t have a problem… If you really want to drain it tip it upside down when you have the oil drained out and pour it out. I leave mine full so there is no condensation problem.
