How to change the battery on your Can-Am Outlander with rear battery

This is a how-to video on replacing the battery on your Can-Am outlander. This is a 2012 Outlander 800 XMR with rear mounted battery.
Tools used:
1/4" drive socket wrench with shallow 10mm socket
15mm box wrench
15mm socket on 1/2" drive socket wrench for added leverage.
The battery charging cable I added is called a "eyelet terminal connector" and comes with most battery chargers or float chargers.

5:21 was what I needed! Thanks! My battery and hold down EVA-RAY-THANG..... was missing when I go the machine. Now I know what to make, how and where.

I relocated the battery on my 2010 Outlander to the rear trunk compartiment. I always hated having my battery dragging in whatever I was going through (mud, deep water). Makes it a whole lot easier to access it too.

This is similar to an outlander 400 2013 Thank you.. The owners manual was useless

Not only was the owners manual useless, the hiring of pseudo engineers was as well. Those who have chosen this location for the battery certainly never work in the repair shop. On my old Polaris, to access the battery, all you had to do was lifting the seat.

Idiot engineers certainly were never away from the drawing board. That is really the only thing I dislike about my 400 Outy Max. I did add the plugin adapter for trickle charging, but now after 11 years I have to replace the battery.

The idea of adding a charging connection for the battery is very interesting. Since my ATV is stored in an unheated shed, keeping it permanently plugged into a charge maintainer is very attractive. No more unpleasant surprises after a night at -20 or -25 Celsius. I'm also going to put one on the Kubota tractor, because without it, I'll have to clear the 800 feet of driveway with a hand shovel, yuck.

@CountryStranger I think you asked the wrong person your question. The following comment might be the correct one. You have to ask it to Matt Richard, who posted his comment about 3 months ago. For my part, I only installed a charge maintainer on my battery, with a "quick connect".

Thanks for the video. I have question I replaced my battery with a new battery and I still don’t have any power at the key. Wondering if a fuse may be blown. I have a 2015 800 outlander. Any ideas what may be wrong. I did try charging the old battery first with no luck
