Dude excellent video very well done I like the way you took your time explaining everything in detail the only change I would make is fiddle farting around with that ratchet I believe I would try to find a longer extension to go on the racket and then put the 32 mmmm on the end of the extension other than that you done a hell of a good job young man 👍👍👍👍👍ç👍

the oil filter is to be install on the oil filter cap before you insert into the engine

I highly recommend changing your oil on these 2.4 GM motors every 3000 miles.. NEVER go by the oil life on the dash!!.. These vehicles have extremely dirty internals from Carbon build up due to a Bad design from GM. These motors also have a bad PCV design. I recommend install a catch can system to avoid blowing out your front and rear main seals, the OEM pcv system tends to plug up easily.. Last thing is to overhaul your complete timing chain system every 100k miles. Id also pull the valve cover off every 50k miles and inspect for timing chain slack..

Yeah I put one on my wife’s 2012 terrain also. Another thing to look out for is changing your transfer case and diff fluid a couple times a year..

I have 2 oil catch cans and added a pcv valve system to the terrain. No problems at all, only issue those engines like to burn oil ALOT.

Dumb question, when driving your terrain onto the ramps did you have an issue with the bottom of the front bumper hitting the ramps before the tires got onto the ramps? Thanks

I did not, but some ramps are higher than others.

I have a 2015 2.4 L GMC Terrain SLE. I feel like this vehicle burns too much on fuel than it should. Any recommendations? When I check the guage it has 17 mpg and best avg is 23.5 mpg. I'm keeping it parked as much as possible at this point. Planning to do an oil change soon.

It all depends on the brand gas you're using, 87,89, 90+? I got the best mpg with shell 89 octane non ethanol gas. I was avg around 27-28 mpg on a level road using that gas. Unfortunately, that was yrs before gas went way up, so now I just use 87 ethanol and only get around 24-25 at best. Thanks Joe >:(

Tough question! Without any sophisticated scientific testing equipment, its almost impossible for me to say which one is better..... But I'd say I prefer Shell Rotella

3/8 extension + universal 3/8 joint + shallow 32 socket + 3/8 ratchet (the long handle kind)....i also had to use a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter for the socket....no idea why they made this so hard

I’ve also started using the 32mm-3/8 swivel-x2 long 3/8 extensions- 3/8 ratchet to remove the cap. So much easier

Everybody always say ramps are dangerous. If you use jack stands, I don't see the problem

Just tried to do an oil change on a 2.4 Equinox and didn't have that stupid oil filter housing 32mm. Autozone and O'Reilley's didn't have it. Not I have to go to Harbor Freight 😂😂😂
