Thanks for this. Why don't you have a mention of tank sanitation procedure? From your manual I'm still not clear at all what to do, quote "Using eyedropper or a small spoon, place a few drops of unscented (regular) bleach inside the 1/4” threaded water nipple at the top of the storage tank. Wait 2 minutes then shake out into sink. NOTE: You should repeat this step when performing annual service." Shake what, whole tank?? Would be great if there was a video of that procedure.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Surprising not to see any mention at all in the video... This is a great company, though. We've been using their stuff for years and we love it. Thanks for the new video!

I agree with everybody else, it's confusing because the tank sanitization information was omitted. From what I can tell, you're supposed to do it before step 8 Pressurize in the manual: www.theperfectwater.com/s3/PDF/HomeMaster_TankProcedures.pdf

They NORHING to answered on your question during three years... In 2006-2007 I looks like won a price for the anecdotes in the Russian Web site. The lady from Fort Lauderdale came into our house with the price conversation. Also, she was the Russian American company that were installing the water filtration and treatment systems in Florida - Fort Lauderdale. The most biggest company for the subject. We refused to do installation. But...We lived in the Community of Barnegat, New Jersey, where the water was as like "private well", and I wouldn't to drink it at all. The price for the installation was as like $3000 -$5000. We did not have such money in 2006.

Please record a new video like this one that is fully complete with all annual maintenance recommended. The instructions state annual filter change, tank sanitization and pressurization should all be performed together, but the videos and instructions do not make clear the recommended sequencing. Do I santize first? Pressurize first? Change filters first? What happens if done out of order?
@richardiporter
@richardiporter Жыл бұрын
I THINK the way to do it all together is 1 close feed valve. 2 empty tank. 3 pump out water per pressurize steps and instructions 4 sanitize tank nipple w bleach doing the sanitization instruction steps 5 change filters doing steps in this video 6 be sure after filter change water runs clear out faucet before opening tank refill valve 7 do the refill and drain 2-3x per this video.

Note about opening water slowly seems pretty important. When they said to open the valve I just opened it all the way. Fortunately I had shut of water at the angle stop so it didn’t turn on before I heard the note about opening the valve slowly. If this video is ever updated maybe call that out before saying to open it as others will jump the gun like me. Great video otherwise. Thanks!

For anyone who tried to remove the UV bulb where just the string came out and the bulb was still in place, use a cuticle scissor to insert into the small hole and you can pull out the bulb that way.

Why clip the ends of the tubes?
@ThePerfectWater
@ThePerfectWater 2 жыл бұрын
Short answer - Trimming the ends correctly helps ensure a water-tight connection. Standard replacement tubing is available at no charge upon request. Otherwise, when you change the membrane at year 3-5, you can get the membrane and filters assembled with free standard tubing. www.theperfectwater.com/membrane-housing-with-50gpd-membrane-stainless-steel-check-valve-flow-restrictor-and-fittings-pre-assembled.html Long answer - When the tube is inserted into the fitting, it is held in place by stainless steel metal teeth inside the collet ring. These teeth create scoring on the tube's outside surface, aka "bite marks", where water could escape if reused, untrimmed. What you are trimming off - is the area which contains the scoring. 9 times out of 10 reusing an untrimmed tube won't leak, or won't leak much, but this is a popular product, and that small fraction adds up; and we prefer that you have the best possible experience with our product. For further discussion, please call for live, personal support 877-693-7873 M-F 9am to 5pm MST.

We offer the replacement membrane in 2 different formats. The bare membrane which fits inside the blue central housing, and the assembled version, which is the membrane in a new housing with fittings, and if you order the filters with it - we'll put it together for you with new tubing and fittings. It's really easy and saves a lot of time that way and it's not that much more $. www.theperfectwater.com/membrane-housing-with-50gpd-membrane-stainless-steel-check-valve-flow-restrictor-and-fittings-pre-assembled.html

Have bubbles in my water after installing replacement filters; list steps needed, please.
@ThePerfectWater
@ThePerfectWater 2 жыл бұрын
Please review the air bubble steps given near the end of the video at 15:05. Based upon what you are describing, it sounds as though there is simply a bit of dissolved oxygen in the water. Air bubbles are completely normal and harmless and will ultimately not affect water taste. Rest assured, the bubbles will dissipate with time and use. Tiny air bubbles often accompany a new system installation and filter changes, as air can be trapped in the very fine carbon pores. This is normal across all reverse osmosis systems. As noted in the video, you can confirm the discoloration is due to air bubbles, by filling a clean, clear glass with the water and set it on the counter. Observe the glass of water. If the discoloration is due to fine air bubbles, the water will begin to clear at the bottom of the glass first and then gradually clear all the way to the top. Sediment from loose carbon/ minerals should sink to the bottom eventually. In that case, please ensure you have performed the fill and drain procedure - exactly as directed - at least twice. The system and storage tank must be allowed to fill and drain completely. Tank is empty when the water flow comes to a complete stop. If the water stream trickles on endlessly, it’s a sign that the system feed was not closed, and the process should be restarted. For live, personal service please call 877-693-7873 M-F 9am to 5pm MST.

Here's the reply for Home Master if anyone has this issue. Fill and Drain Procedure (Page 7 #9.): The first step is to purge the system. Close the system feed valve and open the RO faucet like you were getting a drink of water. Leave the RO faucet in the open position until the water stops flowing completely. Then open the feed valve, close the RO faucet and allow the system to refill. The system and storage tank must be allowed to fill and drain completely. Tank is empty when the water flow comes to a complete stop. If the water stream trickles on endlessly, it’s a sign that the system feed was not closed, and the process should be restarted.

@ThePerfectWater 8 ай бұрын
Yes, but you may have to do an extra Fill & Drain or two. Any discoloration from carbon is aesthetic, there are no negative health implications from drinking the loose carbon. In fact, you can buy OTC carbon pills from the pharmacy used for stomach ailments.

I'm not sure why you'd want to cut the tubing unless it's not straight or if you're experiencing leaks.
@ThePerfectWater
@ThePerfectWater 3 ай бұрын
The reason why we recommend you trim the tubing during the filter change is because the fittings bite down into the tubing, scoring it, potentially creating a path for water to leak out upon reuse. While its unlikely that it would leak upon reuse, and any leak should be visible if you are thorough with the given leak check step - we aim to deliver the perfect water, and being leak-free is part of it. Do I trim the tubing when I change the filters on my personal system - no, but I know that if I see I leak, I can simply go back and trim that tube, whereas some folks will skip the trimming, see a leak, and become very upset with us. I hope this helps. Please call support 877-693-7873 M-F 9am to 5pm MST for fastest response.

Weak pressure is either a storage problem or a production problem. To determine which close the tank valve and open the RO faucet. After a brief burst, you should see a steady thin trickle of water, or -if you have the permeate pump-a trickle that pulses on and off. If this is what you see, then it’s a storage tank problem. If you see zero water, or only a few broken drops then it’s a production problem. Also, a light/empty tank may indicate a production problem, and a heavy/full tank a tank problem... to see the rest of this section please see page 9 of the "Home Master Reverse Osmosis System Installation Manual" here theperfectwater.com/s3/PDF/TM-OwnersManual-PWTv15-QRCodesAddedpdf.pdf .
